The single most telling stat is that we had zero shots on target. Are they sure we don't need a striker?

Problem for Riveire , no one near him when he gets the ball. Here's hoping De Jong fit for next week. Liked the effort but Obertan back to norm.

    Cabella, Colback - very impressed.

    Ayoze, Riviere, Janmaat - impressed.

New signings looking good even though the team cannot be close to fully gelled. Siem to add to the mix too... People cannot honestly be down about this. Beaten by Man City but they looked far from comfortable and the yellows they picked up showed this.

No shots on goal and a soft touch at the back

Add to that Aarons debut and thought he didn't look out of place on the pitch against the champions. Could very well have scored. Let's hope he gets plenty more game time this season.

Obertan was useless, but I can't fault the rest. Colback, I have to admit, was excellent. Aarons and Perez really made a difference, a little rough around the edges but lots of potential there. But you can't miss that number of good chances and expect to get something from the game.

I really hate these undeserved killer goals Man City always get at out place. Krul should have done better though.

Yeah, we need a proven Premier League goalscorer to take some of the burden. Riviere looked to have good physical presence and movement but he needs time to find his feet with his use of the ball. This is probably down to feeling rushed in possession as he is not yet used to the pace of the game over here. Another CB would be great as would a LB... We've all been agreed on these points before todays match though. The new signings did look good and are certainly cause for optimism.

I think Riviere will come good and relax a bit more on the ball as the season progresses. Keep playing him and he'll get used to it. There aren't many strikers that leave both Kompany and Toure on they're arse in this league. Williamson looked very good against top quality strikers, best of our back 4. Colback and Anita also looked like they had played together for longer than a pre-season.

I thought that was a really good, positive performance.

Colback was immense and Cabella was good but a little extravagant at times.

Rivierre needed more support in the first half but led the line well. If we had Remy we'd have got a draw from that game which does show we are short of a striker.

Also thought Colo was a fault for both goals. No need for him to go with Willo for the first goal and let Aguero get the shot off too easily for the second.

All in all I'd give us a 7/10 for that performance. City are just one of those teams for us that always seem to get the breaks.

Krul has to put that out though. I sense he kept it in because he didn't want to give away a corner.

    Just got back.
A great game and thought we played really well at times.
The thing which stuck out for me was how well we moved off the ball.
We deserved at least a draw here make no mistake it's just that **** just went against us today.
Our best player on the pitch... It's a close call between Cabella and Colback.
Colback will be proud of his shift today.
All in all I'm happy and just hope we carry this on to next week.

Think he looked jaded when not in possession.

I was very negative and was actually encouraged but in all honesty we never looked like scoring ill save any real judgement until weve payed villa and palace.

Dont get why losing well matters we still lost.
