Kind words for once, sm1thy, but as Sisu points out on your forum, you did post this earlier: "Newcastle not starting with Ben Arfa. Thats the chance of winning for the magpies gone" Sisu also adds that it proves once more you know nothing about football once again, his words not mine
That was the ****tiest game I have seen Chelsea play in a long time. Fair play on Jose after match chat I agree with him completely. I am disappointed with my team as well they looked like they couldn't be arsed from the beginning. I don't normally get angry when we lose but today was so frustrating. Newcastle definitely deserved that win
Jose refreshingly honest about our shortcomings and credited Newcastle. 'And the Special One admitted afterwards that despite seeing his side clatter the woodwork twice in the first half he could 'smell' the bad result coming at the break. "I told the team (at half-time) that I've been in the game for many, many years and I was smelling what happened because it was quite easy to play the first half," he told BT Sport. "We had lots of space but we were not sharp, we were not intense with the ball. We defended quite well, but we were not fast and intense and aggressive with the ball, so we let the game go. The result continues the Blues' distinctly indifferent away form - Mourinho's men have only won away from home once all season in the Premier League. And the Portuguese conceded that he himself was to blame for what he thought was poor selection on his part. Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Fernando Torres all featured in a strong starting eleven but they were unable to find a way past Newcastle's resolute rearguard action. "I didn't like my team today and I'm disappointed," he added. "I didn't like it (the performance) and I think we deserved to lose. "We had a couple of good chances to score the equaliser but they were more in the game than us, they fought more than us, were much more committed than us. "They did much to win and for sure they were the best team on the pitch." Thanks for the positive comments lads. Shows a lot of class from you guys You have my favourite manager in charge and I fully expect you to be in the mix in the run in. Cheers again. ACS
Cheers Albert. You were superb second half, the best performance against us this season. Good luck and well played.
We usually lose to Newcastle once a season anyway. Terrible record at SJP in contrast to the Stadium of Light which is almost a 3 point banker for us each season.

Well, glad that's out of the way what an awful display. Amazing how an entire team can have a poor day on the same day. Excellent display on how to stop Chelsea from Newcastle. Many teams did it last season and we now have the problem of others following Toons example. One thing shining like a beacon is our complete lack of a midfield playmaker, our long term Achilles heel. We just don't have the nous to break down stubborn defence. Oscar, at the moment anyway, is not the answer, and Lamps definitely not. In fact starting with Lamps looks like it backfired. Hazard who I bagged earlier, looked extremely up for it first half. As they say, you can't win them all, upwards and onwards.
