Me neither it’s bloody brilliant man.
Everyday you think they’ve outdone themselves, with Tyler being the star of the show, popping to the PL Headquarters and then to Number 10 when Johnson wasn’t there.
Then another one picks up the baton doing a video accusing Masters of being on cocaine.
    It’s brilliant :emoticon-0140-rofl:

They're so ridiculous I keep wondering if these people are Sunderland in disguise ...

... just trying to show them up.

I know what you mean but actually I think they are so daft they don’t need sunderland in disguise. To make knackers of themselves.
It’s been embarrassing and sometimes I struggle to believe I live in and around them, they are a different breed.

@BigPete whats your take on this? You live in Newcastle?
I honestly don’t know one person who has gone ott with this, just a reluctant shrug of the shoulders. Some of the folk I’ve seen, albeit on here are going on like right knackers, but I honestly don’t know anyone who is anything but a bit disappointed.

I can tell you this, I haven’t heard a single real life human being mention it since the day it fell through. That’s the truth. Was done and gone.

Its a weird one to be fair. My dad is a mag, born in 1947 so a different generation from most and certainly doesn't hate Sunderland (my mams side of the family are all from Sunderland hence me!), but I remember a few years ago he came down (he's moved to Scotland) to help me move into my new house. As a surprise I bit the bullet and got him a ticket for NUFC v man united to say thank you. He'd helped pay the deposit, he was helping me move in, the least I could do was take him to a match. We went to the strawberry prematch. Funny thing was, by and large it was just like the colliery tavern, halfway house, anywhere else. It reminded me that really we aren't all that different. Match finished 3-3 and was class, other than me getting some funny looks for not celebrating their goals (just told them I wasn't a football fan, my dad was going mad enough to convince them) . Most of the mags I met were fine, but then things like this happen and you realise they've got a load of really, really weird social media "fans" who are an absolute embarrassment. I don't know where they come from, whether it's primarily younger fans, but it's really weird. I can only assume the normal mags I spoke to are embarrassed as **** by the lot of them

Exactly the experience I have of them mate. Lived here for my entire adult life bar 2.5 years in Spain, the banter is all good, I give it, I get it, but it’s nothing like why you see on social media.

For the most part they want us back, they want derbies back, they believe they are the bigger club, I argue back over history pre 1992, but as you say as people we are so alike, we are totally on the same level.

I’ve no idea where they come from. I’ve no idea if they are folk who go to the games, or just those that look for online validation as they have difficult social skills, like them lasses who whinge about how they look whilst posting endless selfies.

Their genuine fans quite rightly want change at the club, the ones I know and meet put it across as ‘we have stagnated and we’d like to at least think there was a chance we could get back amongst it’. Absolutely no problem feeling that way, 10 year or so back they finished second, and like us they adore the club and turn up in their drives through blind faith.

Then, there’s this small %, and I swear I’ve met ONE in real life years ago when I worked for British Airways, literally one out of thousands of them, so where do they live? I was involved in nightlife for years all over the city so where do they drink? Where do they work!? You don’t see them other than on social media.

I quite often will be in boozers around the city when they are playing and it’s exactly the same as out place, pissed out my skull one night and in Shark Bar started singing the Jermaine Defoe song like a pure ****er cos they were singing anti SAFC songs while they were getting beat and I actually made pals.

They are a good bunch but with, same as us and many other clubs, the idiots shouting loudest.

Fair do's, My dad supported both back in the day but is more a mag these days.
There was a time when I didn't hate them, and I could have chose the wrong path as a kid, but by fook there's no way I'd stand watching amongst the fooking knackers.

I was also born 1947 and remember drinking in the Strawberry with the other lot before a derby game. I occasionally went through to St James to see one of better teams play Newcastle and my mate came through here.
The late 60s put paid to all that with the arrival of football hooliganism.
I have to admit I have been dragged into some of the media pisstake of them up the road and have found myself very defensive about Sunderland as a whole.
I still go to away games and have loved the six in a row and the last game when we got a point through there and celebrated as much as the 16 year olds:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Of course most mags are just normal down to earth folk, like the rest of the world. However, they absolutely have the most embarrassing and cringeworthy fans in English football. I genuinely believe that.

Standing shouting at shops and holding mock funerals is not done on social media. Turning up at footy HQ is not done on social media, that is also done in person. Can they claim that hundreds of them writing reviews on trust pilot <laugh> is their social media brigade?

I’ve worked with a few who were mental in their viewpoint of the club. Many of them genuinely think that Newcastle United are one of the biggest clubs in England. They’ve never been one of the biggest clubs in this country so I’m not sure where that comes from.

    Yas divvent undastand meeeeate!

Nah I totally agree with you. We are a middle of the road club that flirted with a modicum of success but ultimately bottled it many moons ago. With it all happening before I even reached legal drinking age <laugh>. Trohpyless since 1955 and I can't see that changing any time soon. Sadly the vocal minority (its not that minor sadly) think otherwise.

Sorry mate, I saw thousands of them run at me on the pitch whilst 2-0 up, the same imbeciles put breeze blocks on the train lines, long before the premiership
