It basically comes down to good old journalist friendly Mo bin Salman wanting to buy the Mags for a soft power push but not wanting to declare hmself the owner, when in actuality he would be. Combine that with the pirating issue, which let's not forget went to the WTO and had the Premier League as one of the organistaions putting the complaint in, and it's no surprise at all it wasn't allowed. And the Premier League went to the WTO after trying to go to court in Saudi Arabia over it but couldn't find a solicitor based there thta would take the case. Guess all those briefs knew exactly which side of their bread to keep buttered. If the Saudis hadn't acted like pricks over the pirating issue they would now be the owners of Newcastle, simple as.
