Question, assuming we got these 2 new CB's who would you want to keep as backup? (assuming we'd have 2 backup CB's not counting dev players)

I'm not criticising it, makes very good sense – but it's purely about business and little to do with football.

If there's one thing NUFC fans have come to realise under this regime that it's being run to business plans, targets, goals and aims and not with a view to achieving anything other than PL survival on the pitch.

We sign from France purely on the basis of lower fees, lower wages and by telling our targets we're the perfect shop window. Newcastle United has become a feeder club to the Premier League for French players, which is great if they're good for us while they are here.

When you have a transfer window where 9 (so far) signings are made, it tells you ONE big thing. It says there's NO real football plan or long-term strategy because you don't build teams that way, it's more in line with an emergency spree.

Why do we have to have barren transfer windows for 2 or 3 seasons until half the squad is released or sold and a dozen have to come in at once?

Don't get me wrong, I'm impressed with the business this window but it's from an understanding of how/why we're being operated – which isn't news to any of us really...

I'd have Williamson as back up but I'd still be thinking oh for f**k sake when playing him.

Plus Colo will have a good season it's just pre season

Have some faith last season any defender would have looked **** in our team

Karl and Jamaal arrive at SJP on long-term deals and will spend the 2014/15 season back on loan with @Official_NFFC
