Goal difference could be vital and that's why we must put as many past Man City tomorrow night as possible.
Love this comment. The rest of us are all hoping we can keep the score down in defeat or at best scrape a draw and there's you looking at it as an opportunity to improve our goal difference. You are now the proud recipient of the Anti Captain Chaos Award for Optimism for this week, following in the proud footsteps of Darren Peacocks Ponytail. Me, I find it easier to assume that we are going to lose, in the vain hope that I may be pleasantly surprised. Not quite the glass half-empty (and with a little hole in the side of it that stops it ever getting any fuller) of CC but someone who has been optimistic too often, and finds it hard to deal with the pain of being continually let down. Of the 3 teams left in the fight we lately seem to be the least able to spring a surprise against the better sides (i.e. the other 16) and for that reason I cant see us saving ourselves.
I just look at form and what teams have to play for, inevitably this is what usually counts at this stage of the season. They all churn out the lines about respecting the league - but then they give out of favour players a go and players go through the motions. Human nature. Some will say Sunderland have been lucky to have so many with poor form and nothing to play for. Bollocks. That's the way the cookie crumbles and if you are relying on excuses at this stage of the season like our lot then you've signed your death warrant.
Don't be so negative toon fans. If BobbyDs wagers are anything to go by, you are going to beat the City tonight!. Keep the faith
Nope... Bit busy at work. Also thinking i'm a bit mafia'd out for the time being. You're tip of mitro scoring last week was a bad one. How could Fat Rafa not play your star striker! He killed that swansea defence when he came on
Have to say I absolutely loved it when he literally went through the Swansea defence (defender) in the lead up to our third goal. Good old fashioned centre forward play that was.
17 Norwich 34 -25 31 18 Sunderland 33 -18 30 19 Newcastle 34 -26 29 20 Aston Villa 34 -42 16 I'd say we need 9 points from 12 to stay up. 7 would put us on 36 and I doubt that would be enough.
Right we need you to say something ridiculously positive about the Liverpool game - it seems to work. Here are a few suggestions: 1) This is going to be so one-sided we should play our U21 team to make a game of it 2) This is such a nailed on win I should think even Captain Chaos will be predicting it 3) I reckon we will score so many we will get a bonus point for the extra goals 4) The only negative I can predict from Saturday will be seeing Albert's arse in Fenwick's when out shopping with the Mrs on Sunday You are welcome to your own of course - I obviously don't have your bottomless pit of optimism.
I just think people need to get used to the idea that NUFC are staying in the PL and Big Sam is going to have a relegation on his CV
to be honest you guys should be smashing liverpool at the weekend, so much so i have bought in Townsend. The only reason why wouldn't is because your away record is shocking. Saying that if Liverpool don't play their reserve side like they did last saturday i would be very surprised and they were lucky to beat bournemouth as they should have given away about 3 penalties
I hate to say this, but I only see Sunderland and Norwich getting 4 more each. We should be good for at least 6. If we pick up 6 and Norwich picks up 4, our goal difference will improve against theirs. Survival. There is, of course, the alternate scenario in which Sunderland pick up 5 points and in which the goal difference resulting from the 3 - 0 sends us down.
I think you will find that we have lost 9 away games in a row and are so over-due a win on the road that all we need to do is to turn up on Saturday to get the three points. Add to that the fact that we have only scored 10 goals away from home all season and it's inevitable that someone is going to be on the receiving end of an avalanche of goals, and that team is Liverpool. Put these facts together and I can't see any other result than a 6-0 win for Newcastle. Maybe 6-1 taking into account dodgy linesmen.
We are going to win against Liverpool. Why? Because I am NOT going and my away record is really, really, really bad.
We beat Man Utd at home and then couldn't beat West Brom. Leicester are top and Spurs are second. Chelsea are ****e. Making predictions this season is simply pissing against the wind and wondering why your trousers are getting wet...
