Welcome Saint Lamby. This may be the last refuge for the old 606 forum 'ers', but it is also the civilised forum for those who can't stand The Saints Web any more; never could manage The Ugly Inside, and want more action than the Plastic Saints forum can drum up. It's also perfect if you're a complete newbie.
The furthest i can honestly say I've gone especially to watch a football match with Saints involved is Meadow Lane, Nottingham. But I have watched Airdrieonians [now Airdrie Utd] at their newish Excelsior Stadium in 2002, I think it was. Bit of a laugh. Owen Coyle was their striker, at the time, and he was bloody prolific too. Can't remember who the opposition was.
Hi Lamby, I have lived in Devon for many years now although i missed Southampton i have grown to love Devon and will never move back but as i still have vast numbers of family in Southampton means i can visit as frequent as i want and still manage to get plenty of games in. I don't think you can knock Devon people for putting the cream on first as i once saw a Japanese family order a cream tea and put the cream into the tea. Educating the locals is a full time job though.
Following on the food theme..did you know that doughnuts were first produced on the Isle of Wight though they included fruit rather than jam.
Welcome Lamby, having been born in the glorious county of Devon (weaned on scrumpy!) and been bred in the fair City of Southampton, I have had the best of both worlds. I still follow the fortunes of 'The Gulls' of Torquay although my allegiances are firmly with the Saints. I have loads of family in Devon and get back there when I can for a cheapie holiday and some REAL cider..
