Hi guys

First post so quick introduction from me. I am a Surrey boy but am a Norwich supporter for reasons i won't go into unless you ask. Anyway, because of living abroad and travelling the world, the last few years have been the first few in a while where I have been able to get stuck into some proper canary chanting and I guess I am lucky in that we are doing really well at the moment. Currently living in London and have been to most London games as well as a few home games this season. Not606 and BBC606 has kept me entertained on many a train journey home thanks to excellent posts from you all as well as reading the banter with the binners. I thought it about time to join in and keep the numbers up on here.

Anyway, I will do my best to not offend anyone and will voice my opinions in the usual manner.

Back to football. I thought Naughton looked really good yesterday and he ran up some serious milage and would like to see him with us permanently. Martin was solid, Whitbread looked good and overall defence looked much much better which is a plus considering the mistakes we have made in previous matches. I am looking forward to seeing more from Pilkington and Bennett and hoping they come on on Tuesday.

I know we have proven goal scorers in Holt and Morrision and there are no real worries there but wonder weather we have anyone in the current squad who can 'bang it in' from outside the area. I don't know if we really pressure the keeper enough in this department and allot of our goals of recent have been headers and tap ins and would like to see a few more good old fashion shots testing the keeper. Let me know your thoughts.

Thats it for my first post - go easy on me!

Welcome cc, we are a pretty tolerant bunch on here, so you won't get a lot of flack! <ok>

You make some good points, we have a couple who can occasionally get a good distance power-driver in! Johnson, Pilkington and Bennett have all shown they can produce a good volley at times!

Look forward to more input from you!

<cheers>

Hi, welcome along.

I agree with your points about the much more solid defending yesterday, but why
bring on Wilbrahamovic when Jagielka was having a poorish game, rather than the pace of Jackson for the last 12-15 minutes?

Dave the mod would normally be first to reply, but I imagine he's busy polishing one of his cut-glass tumblers to pour a large dram of Tobermory for our new contibutor <ok>

Look forward to your views.

Hi Carrow City!

Always good to see a new poster join the ranks, hope you enjoy your stay with us! We're as laid back as they come (untill the binners get involved)!

With regards to your point about not having anyone to bang 'em in from outside the box, I think Johnson has the ability to hit them from out there, although his shooting has been somewhat wayward, I wonder if PL has asked him to stop doing it?

Goals from midfield are a bit of a commodity nowadays, but I'm sure the likes of Hoolahan and Fox have the ability to strike a ball well, they just don't seem so eager to try it, preferring to pass it around (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Interested to hear the thoughts of others about that?

Similar to the Irish Canary, as a kid at school when it came to selecting a team to support, all my friends were supporting United, Liverpool Arsenal etc I was watching TV (think it was the 93' season) and saw Norwich playing and liked their kit. I think it was the horrible splattered green on yellow (Norwich and Peterborough) so not quite sure what i was thinking. Supported them ever since. Its interesting because it means i dont have the same sense of rivalry geographically with teams like Ipswich. I have just learnt to dislike them :)

Thanks for everyones welcomes! Feel at home already!

I agree regarding Johnson and have seen him wind up for a big hit but nothing really on target. It doesn't necessarily need to be outside the area but would like to see a greater intensity with shots on target. Its trivial i guess as we aren't having problems scoring goals but would like to see more of a premier league killer instinct from the lads. i think the more they do it the more confidence they will get.

Why did everyone hate the Jackson Pollock kit. It was worn by probably the best team in our history.
I agree about long range shooting. Even free kicks are bent in nowadays rather than just putting your foot through it.

Welcome aboard Carrow, those were the days eh? ......:emoticon-0125-mmm:

Slightly off topic, but every now and again we greet a new City Not606er, but very rarely, if ever, one of the fairer sex. Considering we supposedly have one of the largest female followings I find this quite strange ?

Hello, Pretty sure Elliot Bennett tweeted once that Johnson has the hardest shot in the club so hopefully he can get more opportunities to shoot from the edge of the box, he tried it against Blackburn and got lucky, mind you Fox cam close but i often feel he is reluctant to shoot despite having a really clean contact with the ball a lot of the time.

I do feel somewhat in the minority. <cool>

Evening to you
You´ll get my view
More often than not I will wage,
In verses which rhyme
Which like our sublime
Play, sometimes last many a page

But that´s just the way
That I pass the day
No need to take notice, Good Lord!
But if you should feel
That they do appeal
Then so be it, welcome aboard. OTBC

Welcome cc, I'm residing in Berkshire so down the road

Some good points made there. I think on the long range shots
Point, certainly from the few games I have seen this season, our midfield seems to have little time on the ball / not enough spaces to go for long shots

I think we will see pilkington tues night, plus I can't see Zak playing twice in three days

Welcome!

Please enjoy these rare years of supremacy that we are in over the binners, and have sympathy for them :) Long live PJ and RK!

welcome CC, enjoy the board and the rest of the season. I'd like to see a few Safriesque stancheon smashers from the mighty canaries. Maybe our wish will be granted on Tuesday
