Koch, Firpo, Forshaw, Dallas and Klich were the best Leeds players today. Joffy was a 7 or 8 again. Normally we see the wingers getting praised when we win, but today a solid defence won it
He could be doing it as a joke but Paul Reaney has just told a small group of fans we’ve signed three players expect an announcement this coming week
Well I hope one of them is Simeone and when you look at his stats I find it amazing that hes only a £10m valuation, guess thats why Caliagri would like to do it now because Verona have an agreement to buy at the end of the season.
Guy who posted it has been backed up by a couple of others, apparently Reaney told them it’s a bit of a surprise because it’s one for each position, defender, midfielder and striker. No doubt Reaney has told a few fans this, the question is: Is Reaney really in the know or is it a wind up
Going to be lots of stories about Todd Cantwell but why would we want a player who has only played 8 times this season for the worst ever team in the Premier League since Direby. Ok if Bielsa does see something in him fair enough. Talk about Deli Alli who is on £150k per week, Harry Winks, Ralf says Ven Den Beek isnt leaving, Jesse Lingard another on big money so cannot see any of them happening
Cantwell looked a decent player last time Norwich were in the PL. However, he has stagnated since. He needs a move at this point. It's really not what we need now.
Everton have just agreed a fee with Rangers for the young kid Nathan Patterson so thats the 2nd player they've bought so far
Yes he was there best player when they won promotion with 6 goals and 2 assists and in the Prem he was also one of their best alongside Emi Buendia. He scored another 6 and a couple of assists in a relegation useless team. Last Summer everyone expected him to leave but greedy club put a huge price on his head so couldn't sell him. Last January yet again stories around saying he was Leeds bound….
To be honest, at this point I don't think he is any better than we have. However, if Bielsa thinks he can improve him and we could get him for 8-12 million then I'd happily take a punt. The figure of 40 million or so is hilarious.
If we are getting 3 players they all have to be fit and playing regular. No point bringing players in like Cantwell he's a summer signing if still available or wanted. If Burnley go down I'd be straight on the blower in bringing Charlie Taylor back. has the energy for this team. Not a fan of bringing players back but he's defo one I would seriously consider.
Taylor is erm....tailor made for Bielsaball. I don't like the way he left us and that could be an issue but he is the most underrated left back in the league. His crossing is better than our wingers and he is a great defender. As daft as it sounds the only other player worth looking at would be Chris Wood. If they went down and we could somehow work out a swap deal with Roberts I'd happily take him too. Like you say, not usually keen on going back but those two linked up well for Burnley yesterday. Taylor is better than we have and Wood would give us a great option up top or from the bench.
I think he’s better than quite a few of ours to be honest, the problem for me is two things, first the crazy fee for a player who will walk for free in June so this isn’t going to be a quick transfer, this is a game of poker holding out until the final day. Second he fell out of favour, then Dean Smith comes in, he gives him another chance, he gets subbed and storms off down the tunnel and now he’s told he has no future at Norwich. He obviously has an attitude problem of some kind, he’ll also be unfit, I can’t see Bielsa wanting him.
I had a look at his social media last night and was surprised at the stuff he finds important. He runs a cancer charity, he spends loads of time with ill Norwich fans, he auctions off all his stuff and the fans love him. For that side of him alone he fits right into our dressing room we also know hes a talent but s he a frustrated genious waiting for a chance or a spoiled idiot?
Just found this written by an injury expert linked to Norwich in November… “He missed a block of games at the start of the season because of personal issues,” Then when he came back he had a problem with his Achilles. Generally, he is a young fit lad. “But given the type of football he plays, he is required to do a lot of work. You would hope that he could adapt fairly quickly. “He had limited minutes for the under-23s before being thrown back in there under Dean Smith. Smith on why he subbed him at half time; “I just felt he was a little bit off it today.”
If Bielsa sees him as an asset and a price can be agreed then great worth a punt. We spoke to Norwich Summer before last about Buendia and Cantwell, we offered £20m for Buendia and they wanted £30m, so we ended the conversation. The greedy prats kept Buendia for another season and managed to get £35m from Villa and Cantwell is now out of contract in June so could walk away for free……. However Norwich have a clause that says than can insist on a further season which means they could action it and insist on a bigger fee. It will take patience to deal with these backwards greedy idiots and probably why nobody has signed Cantwell
Just a question from the above posts on Cantwell. If he got subbed at half-time, how could he have stormed off down the tunnel?
Apparently he got subbed just after the hour mark: Todd Cantwell was named in the starting 11 for the first time since Dean Smith’s first game in charge against Southampton in November. But the 23-year-old had a disappointing return and was brought off shortly after hour mark to be replaced by striker Adam Idah. Cantwell headed straight down the tunnel in frustration and former Norwich City striker Chris Sutton was not happy with his reaction.
