Nice v Monaco into stoppage time and tameze just taken off with cramp. Seemed to be playing on the left of a midfield 3. Quite a rangy player, dribbles a bit and picked a few passes. Difficult to judge on half a game but looked tidy enough.
Trying to get my head around the "25 man squad" rule in January if we've got these new players coming in - can they be included and play straight away under the rules if the summer 25 are still with the club? From first impressions suggest you're stuck with the original 25 and can only introduce new players after someone leaves the club on transfer or loan. Looking a bit more closely suggests you can swap and change players in and out of the 25 as many times as you like whilst the transfer window is actually open. That would be useful otherwise Connolly or Healey for instance would have to be shipped out to make room for new players. All very unclear - unless that is someone else has a definite answer?
Isn't January a clean slate? When a player comes in, you can opt to drop someone from the 25 man squad?
You could be right Jay, but I can't find confirmation of that. I know you have to submit a new "25" by the 31st January but it means effectively there is no "25" man squad during January if you can swap players on a daily basis - you could swap half a dozen every day which makes it a joke. EDIT.........or can you only introduce new imports to the club and not existing players already at the club? Very confusing.
Very very confusing business mate. Perhaps January is a "free for all" . Play whoever the feck you want!
Its the bit I didn't understand when we discussed this a few days ago. Google doesn't help much. All a bit muddled for my puny brain. I'd assumed you could swap who you wanted for a new 25 for the second half of the season, but not sure what you can do actually in the window. What we don't want is to get to the end of the window having held onto Connolly, submit a new 25 with him not in it but still carrying his wages.
It's taken until 17th Jan for me to get excited about new signings mind. Hopefully we can get all of our targets this window! With Niasse coming in, it's now even more unlikely than it originally was that Victor Moses will be coming to us, unless we buy him on a permanent. MD was in Monaco last night, speculatively looking at Adrian Tameze. Sala saga still ongoin - Who the f*** knows what's going on there? Are we still looking at a midfielder? Reportedly offered £15m for Camarassa - bargain in my opinion. I still think we are dodgy defensively. Bamba has been the stand out defender for me this season.. I think Morrison is out of his depth in this league. If we get these signings through the door, at least it gives us an even bigger fighting chance of Premier League survival!
Be nice to see one of them holding the shirt. Even the Niasse deal has gone quiet. Thought he was having a medical last night. Hopefully he's stayed in town and is having a kick about with his new team mates while waiting for the photographer.
Seems to have gone backwards since yesterday, AGAIN..... "Strong interest coming from Cardiff. But nothing is done yet," said Everton manager Marco Silva. "We have to wait to see if the teams go this way or not but I can tell you the interest is strong. "At this moment there is nothing more to say about that. Something could happen."
Dunno about Neil's comments about "climbing a mountain with butter on your hands", it's more like running through treacle at the moment. You wait for the positives and then start to get worried that I've been lied to all my life - Santa Claus isn't real - well he is isn't he?
Will we have a new striker on Saturday? https://www.skysports.com/football/...-sala-to-join-cardiff-in-18m-deal-from-nantes
