Reports are Newcastle want him on loan to end of season then decide permanent or not. They can have him.
WoL says we are now looking at Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea to the end of the season - or pay £12m+ for him. Palarse and Fulham looking as well. Plays wing back or wing or midfield. Would be useful. Wages likely to be an issue.
If wages are going to be an issue then City might as well not bother looking this month; there are no bargains out there In January. The options are to splash the cash on tried and trusted players or just try to make do with what they’ve got. The other alternatives are to dip into the lower leagues (like they did pre season which wasn’t a great success) or try their luck on some unheard of foreigners.
True Ninian. What we spend, or don't, will be a firm indicator of how VT wants to run the club. If he really wants us to stay up then we need quality, reliable players not some of the foreigners mentioned above who would probably only come for the money. The likes of Moses or Matt Phillips would show positive intentions.
Bit of a slap in the gob for Warnock from Clyne?................ "Bournemouth have a great manager and that's what urged me to come here," Clyne said after Bournemouth's FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
£2.6M to the end of the season. Worth it if it keeps us up. Kick in the rocks if it it doesn't. I'm torn between needing that bit of class and experience and unsettling the squad which seems to work in a tight wage structure. I suppose it depends on how desperate Colin gets. Shows the difference between the haves and have nots. Becoming increasingly difficult for 'small' teams to compete.
If that helps keep us up then it is worth it and the rest of the squad should appreciate the opportunity for another year in the Prem it gives them. Will still need a competent striker and defensive mid fielder.
Another one out...................... https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk...-peterborough-united-is-a-done-deal-1-8760744
Good luck to him. He probably tried his best but it just did not happen for him. That penalty miss v Wolves probably drained his confidence. Nothing to prove at Sheffield after their shocking cup defeat.
No transfers in as of yet. Linked with plenty of players, but nothing coming in! Are we going to be panic buying again? Still plenty of time, granted, but I cant help worrying that we will once again leave it too late and be lumped with the scraps!
Bulgarian striker anyone? Not really what’s required https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leeds-united-want-two-signings-15636336
Again we seem to be looking at players which are also interesting Championship clubs. If we are serious about staying in the Prem we must set the bar higher.
Yes, I must say I'm getting the same feeling about this January window. Maybe plenty of time at the moment but point gathering opportunities slip by with every game. Before you know it, it'll be the last few days and on panic alert with another Madine on the cards like this time last year. The club needs to step up to the plate and act.
Another one nearing the exit door.................. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/town-set-to-sign-attacking-duo-1-5842970
Potentially permanent too. I'd sell him for what we can get as we risk losing him for nothing in the summer anyway. Good on him. Deserves first team football.
He should have been in the "25" and at least on the bench as an option instead of Madine. If not a regular starter, he was effective as a sub several time last season and could well have made an impact coming on for the last 15 this year. We haven't got a proven game changer on the bench and I can't remember an effective attacking substitution this season amongst the City subs who've been used so far.
Agreed. Ken has lost his way big time. We need some quality in and also stop people from hijacking transfers from under our bloody nose! I hope we sign Victor Moses, that would send a statement out.
