As long as we don't buy Adel Taarabt!

Love all these news stories saying how he's starting to come into his own now (just cos he scored his first Premiership goal) - bit late now, mate!

I am glad it wasn't just me who thought this. He obviously fancied playing and trying to impress Arsenal as I think he has been linked with them (and many others) in the past. It was a bit like when Drogba played for Chelsea in the final group game in the champions league a little while ago. He was superb that night and it was because he realised that if they went out he would not be able to attract as many potential suitors.

What about promoting some of the youth team? They have to break through some time.

True although if the Championship isn't the place to do it then not sure the Prem is! From what I've seen this season only JWP looks set to make the step up anytime soon. I know Rowe and Shaw are hyped but this is further down the line. Not been convinced by the likes of Reeves. Would love to be proved wrong though!

It's one of the problems associated with potential double promotions. Whereas, when we came up from League One we had say... half a dozen real prospects or more to break through, another straight promotion to the PL means they may not be good enough just yet.

It's a problem. Hansen said you win nothing with kids. Now while he was notoriously wrong with the actual example he was referring to, generally he wasn't far off the mark. Unless your kids are good enough, that is. I suspect Saints are going to have to go some to start producing teams of kids that are that good. It may take a wee while to get the conveyor belt churning them out to that extent.

with regards to the kids, it looks like we will not have a perfect time to blood them. this season has surpassed everyones expectations and now we can not take the risk. even when we had the crisis with full backs, the gaffer preferred playing players out of position, like playing harding at right back- rather than trying stephens who would have had to play really badly to be equal to hardings displays. is there any any youth player that would be pressing for a place on the right wing?
