I take it the sites aren't automatically mirrored so if you post it on one it won't show on the other also is this site closing?

Ron: Had my first go at navigating around just now, seems OK. One question, editing a post is straightforward but, say, as an afterthought, you want to tack-on an emoticon on your comment? Not sure that is possible, i.e. the emoticon must be put in at the first writing of a post, as the smileys are greyed-out at the edit stage, erm, I think!

Correct Wooly. It was created from a site back up on 8th Oct. All forums have been imported into the test site. It is there purely for testing and obtaining feedback so it can be fully prepared for the migration.

At some stage it is probable that we will migrate in full and this site will close. Migration will probably be phased and I'm looking for us to be the first Forum over, hence why I want as much feedback as possible during the testing phase. During the phased migration, obviously this site will be kept open.

From time to time the database will be refreshed with a further full import and at that stage all posts on this site will appear on the test site and any previous posts on the test site will get wiped so if you don't want to lose them you will need to keep a copy somewhere.

If you haven't read the Reasoning behind the Move please do so.

Just tested Swanny and the smiley option is along the top of the edit box. I just posted then went back and added a smiley.

    Add me Ron, please.

I'm in a transition period at the moment - I move house next Wednesday - my current ISP has been cancelled, and although I have internet on my phone, I haven't as yet decided what to go with in the new place (very rural, power and phone comes via overhead lines, cable not available and optic fibre a distant, impossible dream!)
