I think disney could do a good job on them.. I found www.supershadow.com (this is a safe link luv) with what they heard the plot lines to be. if true they sound ok.
Disney have done some dark things in the past and I think they can do this. Something wicked this way comes is one that sticks out and is a cult classic.
Start of Nemo had biggest death toll in movie history for a while. Up's first 10 minutes showed a billion kids a child grow up, have a miscarriage & die childless. Pretty dark stuff for a film that then had a talking dog.... Tron 1&2 although insane & bollox were dark & brooding. But then they also did make Mars needs Moms......
Lest we forget it is Disney, who had a cock on the cover of Little Mermaid, Sex in the dust of Lion king, and "take your clothes off" from the genie in Aladdin.
Didn't Disney do all the marvel comic films avengers etc? I think everything hinges on who they get to direct the films.
Disney liked a bit of death, Bambi's mum etc... I was a massive Star Wars fan at the time, but I feel this is all a mistake, as the Star Wars films are the life story of Anakin Skywalker. He's dead now, so what do you do? Giving it to a fan would be a catastrophic mistake. Fans will make a Boba Fett film, and just give people stupid names like Strobo ****lifter. I'd give it to Nolan or Ridley Scott. Giving it to a moron yank would be the height of stupidity, they can't even pick a decent president with any certainty.
Sounds crazy but its space opera: give it to Kenneth Branagh. Thought he did a good job of Thor. At least you'd know the dialogue would match the action!
