Trust you Shefford. I thought about adding 'the last time' but then decided it wasn't needed. The youngsters of today
Sorry Ranger i cannot agree with that. Why waste the money on 30K when it is just as easy/cheap to build 40/45K. If a 30K stadium was built today we would easily get 25-30K. I glad its them doing the planning and not you Ranger (joke). If the football stadium is good and if the team is good, fans will come from all over. People need to get think beyound our 18K gates. The reason we dont get more fans is because sadly LR has had its day.
Unfortunately Ellers you are correct LR has served it's purpose, and served it well. I would love to think we could stay there and redevelop, but there just isn't the space. Personally I will miss the old girl, even if she was a pain in the arse to get to. Onwards and upwards. U Rrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!
Agree i would love stay at LR but its not good enough. I would like to knock all those houses down or that estate but sadly we cannot, so we must move.
30k would do us now but we need a bigger stadium if we are competing for Europe. Also if we arent selling out, all we have to do it lower the price. We have millions upon millions of people within easy travelling distance.
TF did tweet earlier @tonyfernandes: No intention of moving there. We W12 RT @big_tonyh: @tonyfernandes we can't move there tony - it's also known as south Chelsea! 😳 ...
Ellers i just mean start with a 30k and build up if we are big enough to. Like lego these new stadiums ......
Seems the most likely to me. When you say 'it's not gonna happen' would you care to offer any alternative?
What about the cost of removing the roof every time you want to expand? With a roof, you cant just expand one side, you need to build up all 4 sides equally. This will be our home unless we become a Man U type club which is a long way off to say the least.
I'm confused... wasn't Tony's tweet in relation to not moving to Battersea Powerstation? If anything his Tweet makes a move to the LC stadium MORE likely doesn't it? I like the fact that he said "We are W12"... Hopefully that finally puts any talk of us moving to Southall and the like.
Absolutely taraabt! He was replying to a comment of please don't go to battersea by saying we have no intention, we are W12. As you say that reinforces that it could be right and was the reason I highlighted it in response to your point!
im of the opinion its not going to happen, unless we are taking advantage of the Tories new policy of not needing planning permission, build what you like where you like.
Correct Ellers. Cardiff were a few thousand off filling their last dump every week but when they built a new ground, they couldn't sell the tickets fast enough. The old saying rings true: "Build it and they will come"
