Oh FFS, you're right too. Never ever trust developers. We're bolloxed and it isn't off the drawing board.
Did anyone notice Gallas sneaking in under the radar (or retractable roof). I'm sure future expansions would be included in the plans (although might prove difficult if they're trying to keep the fans close in for atmosphere). 35K will be more than enough for a good few years yet.
Perfect size for me as I've put on other threads. You don't want a soulless empty stadium whilst we develop. If there is anything to learn it is to have the ability to add on in some way. The way everything else is being done at the club at the mo I'd be stunned if they haven't considered this.
Depending on the way the roof mechanism is put in it may mean two of the four stands would be free for alteration, they will clearly look at all the variables...
Yes...but....is it a big enough arena to showcase the talents of Messi? Get with the programme here......
As I said, it might be perfect for now, but if it has a roof then that would surely restrict the possibility of increasing the size in the future. If this has been taken into consideration then all is well and good. I just don't want to see us in the same situation that Chelsea are in now where they have to move because they didn't take this into consideration. But as things stand we shall have the newest and one of the best stadiums in the country. Great opportunity to sell more season tickets would be to give large discounts for tickets for other events held at the stadium. Plus a tie in with Westfields for pre match eating.
35k is the right size for now but what about 10 years time if we are successful? It might not be big enough in the future and we may not be able to expand it but its great to be the 1st club in England to have a roof. At least its not a flatpack!
Real QPR fans haven't eaten properly in 30 years. Substantial meals would be a shock to the system, we need to think about this. A lot of fans are also still in self exile in Monastries, what happens when they get wind of all these developments?
It begs the question, if it is to have a roof, will we opt for one of the new artificial pitches? Look at the trouble they had at the new wembley in getting the pitch to take hold with so little light that reaches the pitch. I know FIFA were doing a feasibility study in to the new types of artificial pitches. Plus if it is to be all purpose stadium, then the pitch would have to be able to either be removed or covered for certain events.
You just design the stadium so that you can add more seating.....Chelsea cant as they are sqaushed up to the sides......you set a plot of land, and design the stadium around that with enough room for the future. I read it will cost in the region of £180 million, so they have to get it right......no moving again in 10 years when we are wining the Champions league
They have mixed semi-artificial pitches now, the San Siro is the latest to try it... http://www.football-italia.net/node/15816
