It wasn't a 3 year ST deal at all Natch, it was actually a guaranteed 5 year fixed price deal if you bought the 2009-10 ST before a certain date. You still have to buy the ST mate.
The infamous "Riddler" offer came on top of that slightly later. He asked fans to buy their ST for the forthcoming season before Dec 31st to help Dave Jones fund new transfer window acquisitions. In return, the offer was that if we were promoted, the ST purchase price would be refunded.
We all know what happened thereafter - it was a load of bollucks. I believe The Riddler is now facing the prospect of criminal charges for deception and wrongful trading.
As it happens, many of us had already bought our STs before that to take up the 5 year price guarantee, so it was of no consequence.
Just to finish, we all still have to buy our STs each season and have sold out for this year when it was capped at 18,000 by the club a few weeks back - that ain't bad at all is it?
