As trailed earlier in the week, Chelsea's new stadium is rapidly turning into a clusterfuck of biblical proportions.......

They originally quoted a price of around £500 million when they received planning permission in January. According to The Times, the final bill could come to double that of those original 'estimates' and building their new home could take five or six years.

<laugh> It's doubled in cost within 8 months and not a spade in the ground. What a monumental **** up.

They're going to rent Wembley for 6 years, are they? I don't think so. <laugh>

What a bunch of chancers. <laugh>

If it doubles every 8 months until it's finished. 6 years = 72 months or 9 x 8 months. £500,000,000 x 2^9 = 500,000,000 x 512 = £256,000,000,000 or 256 Billion, or simply put, the GDP of a decent sized country. Even Abramovich can't afford that. And even if he can, it will still look sh!te.

Not a problem. Their players, the ones that actually play for the club, not 4 million out on loan, will forgo their wages for a week

Roman has pumped a billion quid into Chelsky over a
13+ yr period. To do similar immediately to cover the
cost of a 12-24 month new stadium build is a different
story altogether.

Unlike Chelsea, our new stadium build progresses every week. I've been following Chris Cowlin's weekly video reports of extra panelling. I know it's a bit sad but I've had some time on my hands the last few weeks after elbow surgery. My eldest asked me if I'd been watching the live 'Crane Feeds' recently but thankfully, it's not got to that yet.

The last 2 weeks reports have actually revealed some things of real interest. Firstly, the trees to support the upper levels of the South Stand and its roof are going in. Secondly, the rails for the retractable pitch are being laid. What with the minimum NFL playing surface being 120 yards, obviously, they go a long, long way back from where the South Stand has reached thus far [8:48 of 18:44] . No wonder the thing's so ****ing expensive, it really is a hugely ambitious piece of design.

I raise you :

Every 3 weeks I am in the parish, so I walk around the site as
far as is possible to gauge with my own eyes what tangible
progress has occurred since the last time. See you on saturday. :)

At 1.5 to 2 hours travelling each way and a cost of £11, it's unlikely, unless you're buying lunch? In which case, I'll have the lobster.

I've been told that this 'beer delivery system' is coming to the new stadium..........People, this is the best ****ing invention ever..........ever.
