Spurs better finish in the Champions League spots. Just imagine how sick we'll all feel if the first ever European night played at this magnificent ground is a Europa League tie. COYS!
They are looking for roofing contractors to work on the new stadium. Could it be that some have decided that their bottle has gone?.... please log in to view this image ...it's not for me.
If anyone is interested they are currently doing testing on one of the big screens at the south stand
The contractors never stop working on our new place do they? That new single tiered stand is going to be incredible. I can imagine the sound and intensity of that alone will make our place so intimidating, it'll strike fear into any opposition. Let's hope so. The new fortress WHL.
Can't help feeling we've missed a trick, though. Those trees holding up the South Stand almost look like a pair of hands. Imagine if they had been made to look like Big Pat's gloves.
IMHO first PL home game will be first weekend in September (therefore all games in August will be away) .
Probably. According to today's Times [spits and washes hands] we are asking the PL if we can use Wembley for a number of early season games. I don't believe that there's any likelihood of that being the case unless there's an unforeseeable crucial delay. Currently, progress on site seems almost leisurely most days and non-existent at weekends, so they must be pretty confident of being ready for an acceptable completion date.
Only due to the (lack of) summer sun in the SE corner of the old WHL pitch. I wonder what the summer sun fall will be on the new pitch (for starters the stadium sides are much higher) ...
Don't the PL have rules saying you must use the same ground for a season? Hoping I can grab a ticket when we play there. An efl cup draw would be nice.
The PL rules say a club can only have one designated home ground for PL games, but also say that this can be changed by approval of the PL. The rule is to stop clubs using Wembley for big games and a smaller ground for others. Clubs always need approval when they move to a new stadium. There is nothing in the rules saying this has to be be between seasons. However, Scudamore has publicly stated that clubs can play only have one home ground during a season. It's his opinion, which might count in practice, but it is not in the written rules.
