The Times has put out a story regarding Chelsea's supposed rental of Wembley for 4-5 years, if they ever go ahead with building 'The Egg Slicer'. As it's not an arse-licking celebration of the monstrosity, nobody else has reported it that I can reference.
The story is that Wembley got Levy'd and Chelsea are being asked for a far, far greater sum to rent Wembley than Spurs are paying and are baulking at the cost.
So why is this story out there? There's suggestions of Chelsea renting Twickenham or the White Elephant. Both seem highly unlikely. Is it Chelsea trying to improve their bargaining position or is this all leading up to the whole project being abandoned? I know where I'd be putting my money.
