The conjecture over our intended 'home' for next season appears to be over. In support of Wembley seeking to have the full capacity for all Spurs fixtures, we have mae the following announcement:

"In preparation for our proposed temporary relocation to Wembley, the Club can confirm that we shall be supporting Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL) in their planning application to the London Borough of Brent to increase the number of events at which the stadium can be opened at full capacity for the 2017-18 season. ...

Is 50K the capacity limit for any number of games that can be played at Wembley,
without needing special council application ??

Around 25 additional games at the higher capacity may be too much for the locals
to tolerate. Difficult trade-off for the club (giving more supporters the chance to see
home games that season vs potential rejection) .

There's a limit of 37 events where the upper tier is in use. Below that figure they can hold as many events as they want. I guess we ask for the lot and see what we can get? I grew up in Wembley and it's a grind when big games are held there as far as getting anywhere is concerned. Still, some businesses will definitely want it and there's still a very hefty debt on the construction costs to be paid.

I hope we get it as playing in a half empty Wembley will be truly awful.

Agreed. But do you think we'll manage to fill 90-100,000 seats? This season hasn't been a problem but last season there were often quite a few empty seats at league games. If the club drastically reduces the price of tickets it will help.

A 50K crowd is ok at Wembley if you are getting what I would deem a 'PL home' crowd.
Both spectators and players said the crowd noise for the CL games was not so great.
For an entire PL season any Wembley crowd will have to put in 150% to get a similar
effect to WHL.

I went to the first and last of the CL games. I had a bike accident and missed the Dortmund game. The atmosphere in a two thirds full stadium for the CSKA games was muted compared to the Monaco one, to say the least.

Generating a WHL atmosphere isn't possible due to the sound distortion but it can be loud in a full Wembley stadium, it's just that the singing breaks down very rapidly as the sound rolls around the bowl.take out half the crowd in the top half of the stadium and that distortion is going to get even worse.

I think Spurs are making threats that if promises are not kept then the club wil break their agreements regarding regeneration, jobs and social housing.

I think the council and the GLA are under massive financial difficulties from the government funding cuts that they are looking to save money where ever they can so are chancing their arm.

Could be wrong, but there doesn't seem to be a lot going on with that at the moment and it could be a real issue.

Joe Lewis is on record that he will make good any shortfall of funding on our side, so there's no worries on that score. This is the usual bollocks that comes when dragging Government Agencies to perform their obligations.

Looks like an emergency contingency if delays are incurred. Makes sense to leave the final decision as late as possible, but judging by the recent progress things will have to slow down dramatically to force a change of plan.

The costing data is interesting: looks like we're less than 2 Sissoko's overbudget!!

TBH, given our form there this season, and our form at Wembley! I think most of us would rather stay at WHL as long as possible..
