He was decent and hardworking, from what I remember of him. Scored a goal that won us a trophy, too. Not many have. **** you, Robbie Savage. **** you.
You're a fair bit older than me RCL but just imagine having to face the school playground the day after a hammering from the likes of Bolton Wanderers. The 6-1 cup defeat under Francis sticks out, as does the 1-6 home defeat to the fecking chavs followed by a 4-0 drubbing from Coventry the week after under Gross the following season....the run of 6 draws on the trot (we scored 2 goals in that run. TWO.) under the bloke in the coat the next year...1-0 up on aggregate against Kaiserslauten in the 89th minute, 73 seconds later we're losing 2-0 on the night...the year Jamie Carragher was our 4th top scorer...the run up to the "bright new millennium" that saw us pick up 3 points out of a possible 18, swiftly followed by that row of four 0-0 draws that were thankfully Coat's swansong before Hoddle took over and we only drew once more between then and the end of the 00/01 season. How I remained a Spurs fan through that utter shower of ****e remains one of life's greatest mysteries.
I was at school from 86-91 and I was surrounded by Pool and United glory hunters. Only Spurs fan...was hell.
Try dealing with Blackburn Rovers glory hunters Also on a more serious note the rapid ascendancy of our neighbours under Arsene was a real body blow. Literally happened overnight. The shift was sudden and relentless.
Agreed. I was too young to remember the strong Arsenal teams of the late 80's and early 90's. The 94-95 season was the first I was old enough to really follow properly. Went to lots of games with my dad and my grandpa that year. We played some wonderful football. Crazy at times, but wonderful. I fell in love with the flair of Klinsmann, Sheringham, Barmby, Anderton, Popescu, Dumitrescu and Darren Caskey (ok that last one was a joke). Arsenal were reeling from the bung scandal and finished well inside the bottom half iirc. We fooled ourselves into thinking their fall was permanent. But in hindsight I think the writing was on the wall. The capitulation to Everton in the FAC semis followed by an awful end of season run that saw us miss out on UEFA qualification were omens of what was to come.
Got confirmation for both test event tickets! Get in! They owed me that after declining me for the stadium tour earlier in the season.
Just need Mike Dean as referee now, 'You know who you are, you know who you are, Mike Dean, you know who you are
I've got them, too. I can also get tickets for Barbra Streisand at Hyde Park, apparently. Or not. I wonder if everyone that's applied so far has been accepted?
I got that beat, there was one kid at my school whose support went like this * One year he supported Norwich, as they finished second the previous season * One year he supported Liverpool and Man Utd in the same season * For a couple of years he supported Newcastle * One time I heard him say he might support Blackburn as he liked their kit...and definitely not because of where they were in the table I bumped him a couple of years after leaving school and he asked if I still supported Spurs. I responded by asking if he was supporting Arsenal yet...
The would be the official PMOGL training video for referees likely to officiate at Klanfield then....
But can our giant gleaming cock look magnificent on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke Burnley? please log in to view this image
It doesn't guarantee penetration, that's for sure. To get anything from Burnley you need to be hard and not weak in holding up your end and score early.
But the spammers today were pretty flaccid in the first half, spunked a one goal lead, then rose to the occasion after about 65 minutes, managed to cum from behind and came good at the end.
