I'm married to a police officer and have to stop her about every third sentence to do a jargon/acronym translation.

HRW = High Road West - the darker blue area to the far left -

HDV = Haringey Development Vehicle - a public/private entity for wider development projects in the borough.

HDV = Haringey Development Vehicle, was a deeply unpopular redevelopment project driven by former council chief Claire Kober (and nobody else, as she repeatedly ignored council consultants requests she drop the scheme) which came to an abrupt halt in June after she resigned from the council citing "bullying" and was definitely not on the verge of being sacked due to a combination of incompetence, mismanagement, and obviously trying to force through the HDV as it was her idea and nobody was going to stop her no matter what the financial or social cost. Funnily enough she got hired by a housing regeneration company within days of being binned...

HRW = High Road West, another Haringey regeneration scheme (which goes to great lengths to point out they are not affiliated with the HDV) which has taken the bold plan of actually consulting residents and businesses about their plans instead of trying to force them through

Another stunning image. I'm no architect and was worried about the juxtaposition of the ultra-modern stadium and the traditional High Road buildings. They seemed to clash far too much for my taste when looking at the renders. However, I take my hat off to the designer and local authority and anyone else involved in keeping this mix.

There's something stunning and very,very London in having two such contrasting styles so close together. When comparing our new stadium with others built on new sites with nothing around them, I love it all the more. The fact that it looks like a UFO just landed in Georgian London is great.

It's beautiful, we just need to sign the Eiffel Tower from PSG and erect it in the background.

EDIT: The statue of liberty would look quite good there as well.

Sagrada Familia would be the best option, because what better way to silence criticism of our building cockups than having it placed next to something that still isn't finished 136 years after they started building it?

Another milestone reached - the temporary stairs up to the roof have been removed and are being replaced with the final piece of the eaves...

Yes. I reckon the'll probably try retracting the pitch again in the next few weeks, probably when the ventilation shafts are finished on the South Podium. It should work just as it did before but they'll need to check and there must be a sponsor somewhere dying to see it happen....

Is there not a danger of an unusual bounce along the split, however closely wedged together it is?

Seemingly not. There's a stadium in Europe where the pitch divides along the half way line. The pitch elevates and then retracts over the other half leaving a concert bowl exposed underneath. They use an enormous curtain to cover the pitch half of the stadium.

It's mental to watch but it all seems to work fine. I'll try and find footage...
