I don't see us getting bigger crowds than 50-55k at the moment though.
With an economic uplift and a positive and succesful team, we'd surely need an 80,000 capacity stadium.

Think they will go big TBH - like really big - there are only 4 stadium in Europe in the top 30 capacity stadia in the world, Wembley, Croke Park (Ire), Twickenham (all national stadia for their respective sports) and obviously Nou Camp. Past that Old Trafford is the largest club based stadium in Europe at 75k - If they are going to build a new stadium I think they are going to want to be the biggest.

I said this to me mate yesterday....biggest in the EPL most likely for sure so would have to be 80k which I reckon we could easily fill.
Aye me too and as would the vast majority of the fan base i would have thought. Only issue is if we can't increase the capacity to 70k-80k which I think is what we should be aiming for. Whether we could sustain filling it to capacity in the long term remains to be seen but it will no doubt mean a reasonable uplift in matchday revenue and increase the value of the club further still. Another 10k seats probably ain't worth the effort or money, no doubt there'll be a tipping point where it's not economically viable, be interesting to see what transpires now.I think they'll keep it. There's a lot you can do around the stadium as is, I've seen about 3 separate architects say they can create solutions for the listed buildings to create a bowl. If we had a bowl, modified the thing, it would be ****ing sensational.
I'd really rather we didn't move. Stadium is too iconic.
