It is advertising remember, they pay us money to display their name, and if they were going to pay more to the club than say a well known name like O2 who were bandied about, I will take the money and the rubbish name than less and a big name. Remember Portsmouth!
The new away shirt which is black will have Andrews on the front, but underneath it will have something different to the Air Conditioning which is on the front of the home shirt !
They already advertise on signs around the ground and the other side of the business has the slogan "Andrews - Heat for Hire".
I'm happy enough with this and the kit style will presumably last one year maximum as it's not an exclusively designed number. I think I can do without a new shirt until then but I'm interested to see the black away shirt, especially if they do away with the collar on this version.
I have mixed views on this but I think we need to realise that the new kit and the new sponsorship deal are both probably transition arrangements. I suspect we will get on the the next rung of the Nike supplier ladder next year so our kit will be a bit more bespoke than this year's off the shelf effort. Andrews Sykes may also have pushed the boat out this year to join us but a longer term or (perish the thought that I even dare to dream) a Premiership sponsorship deal may be out of their reach. So I think we wish them a resounding welcome on board and we travel hopefully. All of that said, I liked the new kit until I saw it with the new logo on it and I agree, it now looks crap!
I think the new kit looks great i've waited a long time for us to have a home shirt with a proper collar on it we've not had many in recent times and much prefer them to round neck shirts.
I'll be getting it as soon it's available though I have to admit the style/lettering of the sponsor could be better designed
