If you are wanting it for watching YouTube etc then just get a smart TV with YouTube, Amazon prime and Netflix etc already on it...no need to hook up laptop then :)

Pop into richer sounds, they will point you in the right direction

Ive not seen another make come close to the pic quality of LG unless it's a much much higher spec TV. Like for like they are the best imo! Plus set up and layout is so easy to use. Really love the magic remote on mine

I swore at ours, it had burn in on the screen caused by the yellow 'back button' on Teletext, which I used to view every day. Richer Sounds told me it wasn't covered under their extended guarantee and quoted a figure of around £1000 for a new panel, get ****ed! A Google search revealed it''s a common fault with OLED, especially with channels that display their logo on the screen. I called LG and they said as a one off they'd replace it for £200, so I went for that and they came and did the job. That was in February and I've had no invoice for it as of yet. Not much of a tv where you're limited to what you can watch without a fault developing.

I’ve had Sony TVs for a few years. Not even a sniff of a problem with them.

Not sure I see the point of Sky Glass really. I know satellite reception can be affected by bad weather sometimes, but equally internet can go down too. It isn't any cheaper, you have to buy the Sky subscription as well as the tv set. Might just as well buy the tv you really want and use Sky conventionally.

    Interesting

I was going to get LG OLED (and still might) but I had read that when doing some research

if you use sky via internet, might as well get an iptv for far cheaper ;)

whole point of tv is that satelite tv is faster and less delayed

You can find bad reviews on any make online. I've had a number of LGs and so have friends and family and I've never known an issue. I wouldn't worry to much about it and just go for the TV/set up that suits you and your needs the best and you find easiest to use.

I'd suggest going to either Curry's or richer sounds and playing with as many as you can. Then looking as some of the cashback sites like Quidco and finding the best deal for whichever TV you want :)

Very good point, I should have really pointed out that richer sounds matched the deal I found online for mine via Quidco.

I think lots of shops try and do that these days. I think it's also the case that the internet isn't always cheaper, especially Amazon!

I might be a little stuck in my ways but I always prefer to buy something substantial face to face as opposed to over the internet.

I'm already using LG, just not OLED

Waiting for now anyway as the surround sound I want is out if stock and taking months to come in (worldwide lack of chips or summat)

If I may be a bit blunt, that's a ****s trick. Of course it's going to cost more in a real shop, they have higher costs for workers, rent and rates etc. When all the real shops have gone there will be no one to go and ask for technical help.

That's your opinion and your entitled to it, if it was £50 let's say, I really wouldn't mind. But it was a touch under £300 difference in the end and I'd rather that be I'm my pocket.... If that makes me a **** then hey ho

Anybody gaming shouldn't be playing on a TV, you should be on a monitor, regardless of PC or console.

In terms of TV, Samsung do some great models that won't break the bank. Sony are alright too.
