Transfer Rumours New signings and rumours 24/25 season

As rumours are already going around, thought best to start a new thread now!

 

Bristol Rovers are interested in AFC Wimbledon forward Ronan Curtis on a free transfer, with the 28-year-old's future at the League Two club yet to be decided.

Discussions are ongoing between the winger and the Dons after he joined on a short-term deal in January having been released by Portsmouth last summer. Curtis hadn't played since February 2023 having suffered serious ligament injuries on both knees but impressed for Johnnie Jackson's side in the second half of the League Two campaign.

He was good at Pompey though.

 

I’d rather we go for ex Pompey Sean Raggett - excellent L1 central defender, not that old but experienced and now a free agent. We conceded a shed load of goals this season and that has to be addressed.

 

We certainly won’t be re-signing JCH - he’s gone to the Millers.

 

I'm surprised he wasn't used as much at Posh.

 

Made it clear he would run down his contract after the January window debacle and fell out of favour with Ferguson. Barely started but still got into double figures in goals scored. Quality striker who will have a lot of fun next season, unfortunately not for us.

 

Something on football world linking us with Shayne Lavery who was released by Blackpool. Thought the club were hoping to do the transfer business early in the window but I have seen nothing about any player joining us nor where our departing players have ended up.

More worryingly nothing about those offered new contracts putting pen to paper and signing the new contracts

 

too early to worry, transfer window opens 14th June?

 

Ronan Curtis has joined Port Vale on a 3 year deal and Darrell Clarke looks like joining Barnsley as head coach

 

Curtis injury prone yet Vale offered him a 3 year contract? A big gamble.

Best of luck to DC - he deserves a crack with a bigger club.

 

Charlton looked to have beaten us to the signing of Josh Edwards, Rovers bid was accepted by Dunfermline but Charlton offered him a better wage deal.

I know the transfer window hasn't opened yet but all our rivals seem to be singing new players.

 

According to Dan Hargraves we’re about to make Taylor Moore our first signing of the summer.

He’s a 27 year-old defender, ex-City, who left Ligue 2 side Valenciennes in April.

We definitely need more depth in defence so this signing could be a good start.

More bothered that our players offered new contracts haven't signed, Evans, Hoole, Rossiter and Sinclair will all be missed and leave the squad very thin and low on numbers.

 

Rovers now advertising for a new 1st team coach, wanted by pre season 1st July

Scott Sinclair is expected to remain at Bristol Rovers after being offered a new deal at the end of last season. No decision yet re Luca Hoole and Jordan Rossiter who are believed to still be assessing their options.

Bristol Rovers are in talks with Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson. The 28-y/o was Matt Taylor's no.1 on loan at Exeter en route to promotion in 2021/22. Has been offered a new deal by the Owls though.

 

Dawson was Wednesday's no.1 in their promotion season 22/23 to the championship.
