Lets hope its a fast striker.
And they are actually 'experienced'! Ward seems to think (going by previous comments) less than 5 appearances makes them 'experienced'.
 
It'll be an 'Experienced' striker. He'll be 48 with a recurring knee problem who's currently training with an 8th tier side!

I hope I'm wrong!

BRISTOL Rovers boss John Ward has confirmed that he is scouring the loan market in an attempt to add some experience to his young squad ahead of the trip to Oxford United on Saturday.

The manager has scope to bring in a player on a temporary basis and is looking at 'a number of positions' – although a striker is believed to be his first priority.

Ward, however, may also be eyeing up a left-back after confirming that Lee Brown won't be available for this weekend's assignment at the Kassam Stadium because a hamstring complaint continues to be a problem.

He said: "We have managed to bring two young guys in on loan a couple of weeks ago, so if we do something we'll be looking for a bit of experience.
 
Chris Beardsley from PNE apparently? Not going down well on the OF. I doubt a single one of them have seen him play and know nothing about him, except his poor scoring record, yet have given him the boot already lol
 
ELAC/CG...........I'm prepared to have an open mind (not a moaner<laugh>), but he doesn't look
all that good on paper! I've a good friend living in Bristol who is an avid PNE fan. He just texted me
to say 'up north' they're saying we've signed Beardsley.
His succinct description...'He's not very good' !

Damn some of our fans really are quick to stick the boot in mind
 
****ing typical of that bunch over on the OS Forum no wonder we find it hard to bring players in. FFS we're near the bottom of the football league who did they think we were going to get in on loan somebody from Bayern Munich he has experience which is what we need maybe if he works along side Brunt or Harrold then they will bring out the best in each other.
 
flip me, we signed a striker! i am late hearing this news. hectic evening yesterday so missed this story!

not surprised about people on the OS being upset. they moan about everything and think we got a given right to sign an experienced prem striker who can easily score 20 and has bags of pace!

his goal scoring record aint great at all but i will give him my backing. im just glad we didnt sign another CM and put him upfront <doh>

good thing is he seems to have a good goal scoring record when in loan. obviously trying to impress. but going by the above record the team signs him up after being on loan and he then dont do as well.

13 different spells at clubs. 253 appearances. 40 goals. thats 1 goal in over every 6 games. for a striker that aint great and looking at the teams he has played for, its lower league that he has struggled to score in.

i am disappointed in this signing but were a struggling league 2 side, who else do we expect to sign really?? lets get behind him and pray he comes good in this spell.
 
I would be happy for anyone to carry the ball into the box, even if he passes to another to shoot on target for a change! If the stats improve so might we!
