Hunt. Why not. A good acquisition. Out of our budget. Probably. Too much speculation and not enough action unless MM is happy with what he has.

If the deal was right i wouldn't say no to Hunt, people have been crying out for creativity yet when a player comes along who would give us that they don't want him.

Like i say, if the terms suited the club then fine, but not if he holds us ransom.

I reckon it's likely we'll be getting a striker in, I've just seen we've sent Paul Taylor out on loan to Peterborough!!! You reckon they'd take Murphy and Nouble aswell?

The thick plottens... With Taylor going out it does make things interesting, especially as Tayls was played out wide recently so MM doesn't consider him as being vital in the coming weeks as a wide option... Wide player and Striker about to join??

Also, why let him go to Posh before the weekend, unless we are about get someone in ready to hit the ground running before hand?

The plot is thick. Nearly as thick as mrs miggins cake. Again having read a couple of days ago Taylor was going nowhere due to our lack of strikers he's now off. Till when anyone? So this must mean some incomings. My breath is baited.

We all get hacked off about the loan market, however just look at how Birmingham City's fortunes have improved recently.Doncaster Rovers have got a goal scorer as we'll.

The main issue I believe most of us had was the quantity of mercenaries, sorry loanees we had in. If MM is doing the right thing and looking at a decent striker,a wideman or playmaker then bring it on. Can live with a couple if they prove their worth.

I hope Taylor going out on loan is because we are using another club to get him fit for us and not because we are looking to get rid of him. Hopefully he can bang some goals in for Posh and show Mick that he's worth keeping. I'm getting a bit pissed off at Mick's inability to fit flair players into his rigid system and think we may suffer for it.

On the subject of SEB, it seems as though that's exactly what we would be doing for him. Getting him match fit so that he interests a number of premier league clubs and then he'll be off. If he comes and scores goals all well and good but I don't like the fact it's 'beneficial for both parties'. Another DJ situation springs to mind but then if he does what DJ did for us I'll have no complaints, it does feel a bit short termist though.

Hunt could be the answer to our left side, so long as he doesn't cost the earth.

I don't really understand how ME can be in the cross-hairs for this move.

Is it short-termism? Maybe, depending on whether Taylor comes back. If it is short-termism, despite it not being the best policy it shows ME is involved and cant have lost interest. That said, i doubt MM would tolerate a chairman dictating transfers.

Therefore it's more likely to be that MM has decided that he cant give Taylor the games he needs right now and is replacing him with SEB, a player he knows how to get goals from.

True, availability of funds could be questioned during the summer window however if it was just funding that was the isse then we wouldn't be sending out Taylor now and therefore opening up a slot in the squad MM declared himself happy with.

Overall, I think it (SEB) is an all-round positive move and MM will be able to re-evaluate in Jan.

I think people are probably reading too much into taylor going out on loan, it's only for 1 month and we can recall him whenever. It is purely so he can regain match fitness. A good move for everyone as far as I'm concerned.

It does however leave a spot on the bench I can see Alan Lee filling or maybe even Marriot occasionally

Yeah I've been saying for a while it's time we looked at Marriott in the first team.

Another potential transfer coming into town. Dan Sweeney of non league Kingstonian has been trialling with us. Came thru AFC Wimbledon's youth set up. He's a 19 year old midfielder who can also play in defence and apparently had several football league clubs keeping tabs but would appear we've stolen the march.

I think people have forgotten about international week in the month Taylor has gone out on loan.

That to me really if he's only going out for a month is a very smart move by the club for once, as he'll get an extra game in and miss one less Tractor Boys game

Well spotted westy. And would appear he had a good game Saturday. A moment of inspiration from MM.
