Swansea City is pleased to announce Swansea University as its new front of shirt partner for the forthcoming 2020-21 season.

The award-winning university will sit on the front of the first-team’s new home and away shirts for the duration of the upcoming Championship campaign.

The logo will also feature on the home and away shirts of the club’s under-23 and ladies teams.

The link-up also means all our young fans can now wear the exact same shirt as their Swansea City heroes, with the new sponsor logo being printed on both adult and children's versions.

To further support the sponsorship, the university will also retain its status as the club’s Exclusive Higher Education partner.

The university, who had their logo on the club’s back of shirt and training and travel wear worn by players and staff last season, will also continue their West Stand stadium sponsorship, plus branding on SwansTV Live fixtures streamed to the club’s international and UK supporters.

Swansea City’s head of commercial, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, said: “I am thrilled to have Swansea University as our main sponsor for the 2020-21 season. This is the perfect partnership that encapsulates our club and our city.

“This is the first year of not having a betting brand on our front of shirt in four years, which enables our Junior Jacks to wear the same shirt as their Swans heroes.

“There is nothing better than having local, prestigious brands involved with us as a club and we look forward to a very successful forthcoming season.”

Swansea University has been at the cutting edge of research and innovation since 1920. The university, which celebrated its centenary earlier this year, has a long history of working with business and industry, while its world-class research has had a large impact across the health, wealth, culture, and well-being of society in recent years.

Andrew Rhodes, registrar and chief operating officer at Swansea University, said:“We are very pleased to be the front of shirt sponsor for Swansea City next season.

“Building on our partnership with the football club as its Higher Education Partner, which was recently renewed for the next three years, this sponsorship deal brings huge benefit to Swansea University as we look to recruit students for the future.

“The relationship is more than just sponsorship and extends into our elite sports offering, as well delivering support for students and the local area.

“We would like to thank everyone at Swansea City for their continued support and we look forward to what we hope will be a successful season on and off the pitch.”

The new Swans 2020-21 home and away kits will be released soon. Keep up to date with the latest Swans news by subscribing to emails and following us on our social media channels.

I wonder if my source was correct about another ‘Swansea’ business on the back of the shirt?
