Problem is if they are considered to need experience, the chances of getting a decent Champ team to take him on loan are restricted and they then only gain lower league experience. I'm not arguing that a good loan spell wouldn't do Martin some good, I just think that the Championship is not so hot that we can't afford to let him make a few mistakes on the pitch for us.

He would benefit greatly if he went out on loan to a League 1 or 2 side as he hasn't even had that much experience outside of non-league. He's young and still got a bright future at Saints but it's too early just to stick him in there alongside Fonte and expect him to perform!

How is "Ardar Jemmal", or Ammar Jemal, winning this poll? Has anyone here actually seen him play, if so have you seen him play enough to make a valid decision on whether he's good enough for us?

Well the thread I put up on Jemal had a few youtube vids about him. The fact he has already played in the CL and EL League shows he can mix with the best and that he's at good age to progress. His fee is around the £1m mark I think. So the reason why people have voted for him could be because of the reasons I have mentioned which were discussed on the thread. Also, Ferdinand would be good but to pricey (wages) and has a very large ego, so he doesn't get my vote. Kilgallon has gone downhill and I here the price being branded around is £2m for him, so no thanks!! Therefore, Jemel gets my vote.
 
By the way I know the youtube videos can be misleading so don't jump on my back if thats the case. He could be rubbish and the rumour absolute tosh but we shall wait and see what happens in the near future.
