Given Brunt has only been here 5 minutes there was enough to like when he came on without it being startling. I know the incident you mean lyndhurst and I think he was trying a bit too hard. He seemed desperate to do well. Unless armagedon arrives I agree there is no place for Morgan anymore and he won't play again.

Sheridan is showing interest in bringing in on loan Drew Talbot 28 yrs old Chesterfield right back......who is returning from long term injury.

Talbot was part of Sheridans promotion team when he won Div2 in 2011/12 with Chesterfield.

Sheridan obviously rates Talbot... he needs to assess how he is recovering.......and then possibilities for fulltime employment next season.

John Sheridan has taken Drew Talbot on a 3 month loan from Chesterfield.

The loan agreement allows for a 24hr recall clause after the first 28 days.

Drew has made 200 appearances for Chesterfield and was in Sheridans 2011/12 Div2 champions team.

The deal finishes on May 2nd.

Think it could be a good move. Feels like 3 new signings (with Bobby R); the other two are a bit of a gamble but after a fairly miserable few weeks I have a good feeling again. Luke fit and the back 3 restored, so should be back to clean sheet time....

The best news I've read this evening is your comment lyndhurst that Luke is fit. I was fearful he would be out for weeks and of course haven't heard anything all week having not been here. The other thing I was hoping to read was at least Kellett was back with a cheeky hope O'Connor might have been as well. Can't have everything I know but time is running out on this so if we are going to get them it is going to have to be very soon. Still have my fingers crossed but with this signing the O'Connor one is looking less likely. I have high hopes that tomorrow will see a turn around if the game is on.

Well Marvin Morgan not picked to start or sub against Hartlepool.......so his two goals in mid-week means he must be on the way to Hartlepool by Monday.

This is one I've been waiting for and praying for all day. Looks like we have O'Connor back on a permanent deal i.e. not loan until the end of this season. Pasoti full of it at the minute and looks to be true. Just Kellett left then and all will be well in the world of football once more.

Yes sensible........taken over his contract until the end of the season......means O'Connor is a free agent at the end of season.....just what he wanted.

As long as it's for the rest of the season I don't care plym. I don't blame O'Connor he is looking for a few quid when he signs a proper contract with somebody and that is exactly what he was holding out for.

On a slightly sour note, according to a person on Pasoti Kellett has gone to Shef United. Probably true but if so damn and blast it he would have been the last bit of our jigsaw and I think we might have turned our season around.

Rumour also that Thomas is being released......only if we pay up his contract I would think.

Given the standard of Scottish football even in their supposed Premier league it isn't that shocking is it. We have had a few from that direction in the not too distant past who were total pants. I would doubt we would pay up his contract as he would no doubt get a couple of quid and a fried mars bar for signing for them as a free agent. He wasn't played by us and was costing wages so no great loss is it.

WOW!!!! I didn't see this coming.....Kellett signs for Man United on loan. Now I did rate the bloke at this level and thought he was too good for league 2 but not in my wildest dreams would I have associated him with the Prem league yet. I just can't see how this will enhance his career because can anyone see him actually playing? I don't see how this benefits Bolton in any shape or form in his development.

So Kellett has gone on loan to Man U.......Why ???.

Can only be to boost their U21 team......even that doesn't seem logical.......why do they need a youngster on loan for three months.........don't they have any depth to their youth set-up anymore.

PS.....Just remembered that Man U took 20yr old Sadiq el Fitouri from Salford City last week and they're non-league.......although they are owned by ex-Man U players......he was only there weeks ?.

Excuse me while I try to get my head around what has happened recently.

    IN.........
    Brunt.....18 month contract.
    Flanagan.....one month loan.....ends 10th Feb.
    Lee.....one month loan......end of Feb ?.
O'Connor.....Taken over his contract, which finishes end of season.
B Reid.....loan until end of season.
    Talbot.....loan until end of season.

    Out......
    Morgan.....loaned until end of season.
    Richards.....loaned until Feb 28th.
    Thomas.....contract cancelled (signed for Motherwell).

Kellett..... loaned by his club to Man U......never realistic to expect him back.....shame.

Although Morgan and Thomas rarely played for us........we are left very weak for strikers.

Defence ok but not much back-up.........although good when fit.

Mid-field not enough attacking bite.....a worry.

Talbot an experienced quality player at this level........IF he stays fit (coming back from long term injury)......could be used anywhere down the right side.

Brunt.....could be useful in support of the regular strikers......coming back from injury as well.

If Talbot and Brunt stay fit.....they could do well for us.

Play-off position still possible if we start to click and WIN GAMES>

That's that sorted then plym. If only football was that easy eh! I can sort of understand why Kellett has gone there but is it better than playing first team football rather than what amounts to sort of reserves.

We have more in midfield now with O'Connor being back. If you have watched Argyle this season you would have noted that O'Connor is the defence in midfield and goes about his job quietly and mostly does it very well. He out of all of the loanees we had was the most important in my book. He will go on to better things. He now releases Bobby Reid into a more attacking role in midfield which is where you want him. We have strikers coming out of our ears despite Morgan going. Not short there anymore. Brunt looks ok but it's a bit early to judge. The defence looks good now and especially with O'Connor in front of them. Good test this weekend coming up so before we go off over excited or slitting wrists lets see what happens.

Wow. Kellett was the one I really really wanted back. Good going forward, very quick, tenacious in defence. I thought he'd end up twiddling his thumbs at Bolton but I can't say I saw a move to Man U coming.

Ah well, can't complete with that.

I see the wording re O'Connor is that Argyle have "taken over his contract". Presumably that means that we've taken on 100% of his Blackburn wages which is a strong move from Brent. It will be well worth it if we can get back to regular clean sheets.

It shows some commitment from Brent.....which will upset some of the negative types usual bleating.

Okay only three months or so contract.....but better than nothing.......lets hope Sheridan can get the show back on the road......if not it will be his head that will be called for.
