Back in 2004 when Leeds United went into administration they sold Elland Road and Thorpe Arch to Jacob Adler for £8M.

They initially paid £1M per year in rent for the 1st 10 years , then it went up £100K per year thereafter (for Elland Road) and £500K per year for Thorpe Arch.

In 2017 the annual rental was £1.7M and £500K so new Leeds owner Radrizanni bought the stadium back for £20M and agreed to lease it to the club free of charge for 36months.

In those 14 years, Adler received over £50M for his £8M investment.

That's in the ****hole that is Leeds.
 
It all seems to be following the sort of pattern that we are all too familiar with. It even seems that Sandgaard has used F4F to"Do the dirty work", which has a bit of a bad smell I'm afraid. CRay Wanderers is also quite handy for me.

All I will say is this.
TS is a respected businessman who has had to deal with a bunch of crooks and RD.
This week, he has told you all to "be patient" and that he is "even more determined to get the deal done"
In the last 3 weeks alone, he has been to more games than RD and Nimer put together.
On Saturday, he flew in from the USA so he could be seen at your first home game.
I'd say this was the complete opposite of the pattern you are used to :emoticon-0148-yes:

I never heard RD say he wanted to redevelop the real estate, so why do these rumours exist? This is a genuine question because it doesnt make sense to hang on to an asset which is actually not an asset, just a physical representation of RD's wealth, like a monument.

Of course it's an asset.
Whoever owns the football club will have to pay him rent.
His deal with ESI was conditional that they purchased the asset at a certain time for a certain price.
Absolutely nothing to stop RD hiking up the rental price to new owners.

£200K per year could well increase to £1M per year, and he could also ask for a percentage of gate fees like he did at Standard Liege.
If what has been published is correct, he was getting €2 per ticket sold.

The rental price that Duchatelet is charging is 200000 a quarter. So a 800000 a year.
 
Another scan of CAFC social media this morning and he’s a repeat of the last 2/3 years.

95% - ITK fans showing off, & boring and tedious speculation about the takeover & owners.

5% - the team, and the game this weekend.

If ever there was a club that needed to get back to being a football club, it’s our one. I wonder how many new prospective younger fans we have lost in the last 3 years, kids who don’t want to read about conning and land deals and injunctions, but centre forwards & great matches & quality goals.

I think for all of us on here, this totally tedious ownership circus has become the norm.

If and when Douchatelet finds the exit door there will be continued rewriting of history in some quarters about what a benign owner he was. Similar to the rewriting that now says that we hounded Curbs out of Charlton. A total lie of course but that doesn't seem to matter these days. Even if you tell someone who believes that to read Curbs' own account of his exit they still prefer the lie, and so it will be with Douchatelet.

I can’t find it in myself to be in any way annoyed with Sandgaard. I’m beyond the point of boredom with it. If a guy worth £500m and using Freshfields can’t get a deal out of Duchatelet, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the club is f ucked. The fans who stoutly defended Duchatelet on ITTV are little better than quislings in my opinion.

Some are wedded to the belief that he is a benign owner, and nothing will change that. They tend to be fans who don't attend matches, therefore didn't experience the morgue-like atmosphere at The Valley before Bowyer.
