You've missed out the part where I said 'if you didn't want to get involved you didn't ' 'no difference nowadays'...Are you just dissecting the post and tailoring it to suit your narrative?

Read my post where I mention our duty in life to protect our children...

How is that relevant? You're right, I did miss it out because it goes without saying if you don't want to get involved you don't, to suggest it is "part and parcel of the game" implies that it's normal, when it won't ever be.

I read what you put about protecting our children, I don't have a "narrative", I was simply stating that it isn't normal and furthermore, if it does become so, my children won't get to go until they're old enough to decide for themselves.

I said it 'WAS' part and parcel of the game Steven...It's 'no different today' in that people get involved if they want to.

I'll end this from my end now by saying I don't think it's 'normal' and it's your right to do as you see fit what you do in your life and with your children....

You're trying to paint me as some sort of knuckle dragging, bottle throwing, flair carrying thug who wants to see mass battles at football matches and kids getting upset...Like I said,do what you want,it doesn't impact on me at all.

Sorry, we're now at "I know what you're thinking"? In what universe have you managed to come to that conclusion?

You've clarified what you said, fair enough, you just could have worded your original statement better, there's no need to get all defensive.

In the 80’s I was more worried about dodging Stanley knives and bricks, but feel free. I’m not a bad size to hide behind

I do recall someone pointing out the number of village clubs you frequent, when they said you were a Big Country member.

I said 'Aye, I do remember". :emoticon-0100-smile

The final 3 syllables, are they completely necessary.... ?

... Its irrelevant anyway, as we city fans know, the shorter the name the better....

There's a massive difference. I have a 3 year old daughter I want to start taking to City, she's already obsessed with football and she wants to come with me. She's too little at the moment, but when I do take her, I don't want her first match to be marred with violence, seeing that kind of thing even from a distance can be frightening to a kid, even if I explain that it's just people being stupid.

It might have been part of everyday life back in the 70s, but it's 2022, we don't want to go backwards and start tolerating it or normalising it.

Kick the ****ers out, kick out anybody else who is stupid enough to fight at a football match and let em whinge about it in the pub on their own while we enjoy the game.
I’ve questioned whether there’s really much of an increase, but certainly wouldn’t condone violence.
Having said that what you’re asking for is happening already. People do get thrown out, and banned, and convicted (often for things they wouldn’t get convicted for away from football)
With CCTV etc as it is there’s simply no way we’d go ‘backwards’ to the 70’s which is good.
I suspect it’s just a blip while people get back to normal, because anyone spotted will be out anyway

I really hope so.

Sniffer dogs seem to be far more prevalent in England than up here.I've never seen a sniffer dog in Glasgow anywhere near a pub, never mind a Football Stadium.
They are a huge deterrent in my opinion so I'm not sure why they're not in use North of the border(she does like to be different though and sees alcohol as the big evil in Scotland)?

Sniffer dogs for deep fried battered mars bars?

Think this young man will be one of the first ones out the door in summer, problem is why on earth would anyone pay a fee for him?

Constantly ordering takeaways whilst he was in Hull, cruising around Kingswood at 50/60mph, where did it go wrong? Cant remember being impressed with him once bar the headed goal on his full debut to justify saying he’s not fulfilling his potential. What potential is everyone seeing?

Any chance of a goalkeeper being signed for tomorrow’s game? Not opposed to Cartwright playing, more so that if he gets injured we have no one.

Very often with young players, you see potential, which he obviously has shown whilst at Motherwell. However, to continue that progression, you have to have the right work ethic, clearly, this lad is inherently lazy. He maybe thinks he is better than he is and believes he can do the minimum to succeed. Bowen is a great example, he has always worked hard and continues to do so, hence his success.

I agree with you, unless Shota feels he is worth the time to coach him and can get something out of him, he will be out of the door.

Does anyone know what is happening in 2 months?

Saw on Twitter apparently Acun is announcing something but not for 2 months, apparently it will shock the world?
