If you build it they will come.
Maybe not as many as Newcastle or Sunderland ( football with mates on a Saturday afternoon is endemic in the culture - it's part of the social fabric where they'd work in the factories and shipyards on a Saturday morning then all out to the pub and the match on the afternoon), but if City can sustain a bit of success rather than show in flashes what we're capable of as a club and city then there's no reason why we can't fill the ground on a regular basis.

It took the Allams a long time to get pricing right, but if they stay at a similar level with a bit of success then we can punch our weight.

North east clubs will always punch above their weight relative to catchment though due to the difference in local culture up there.

That said though, I suspect we won't be too far away from becoming the best supported British club in Turkey - which is an international marketplace not to be sniffed at.
Good post

So who is priced out currently?

It's an argument to be made before the current pricing structure. Not going forward.

I accept that some who were lost won't come back, but others will with a change in ownership and direction.

... And I'm no where near Allams arse, want them gone yesterday, just I'm not behaving like a redneck who hasn't been to a good lynching for a while.

Shame you don't seem to have the ability to process nuance in an argument.
Priced out or not once they removed concessions for my son we found other things to do. Hoping the sale goes through as I'd love to be at the Blackburn match

Classic example. 1970/71 with our famous five forward line still intact. ( well, four of them plus Terry Neill) Every tie at home from Rd 3 to the Quarter Finals. Two nil up at home in the 1st half of that quarter final and we still didn't make the semi's.
Yeah, we've had loads of favourable draws in the FA Cup alright.
Does one count as loads.
I was at that game and we was robbed. Where was goal line technology back then.
We were second division, Stoke were first so we were underdogs. Apart from being at home, I wouldn't say playing a team above us was favourable. But hey ho.

We’re beyond nuance. Whatever the price structure us now is irrelevant to the fact tgat the previous one priced out support & as a direct result many will not return, ever.

Harping on about the current structure cancelling out any previous argument is as Allam arse lick as you can get.

You have no valid argument against the point I made.

Which was my point. This rugby city stuff is bollocks. Used to be the largest FA District, largest Sunday League, dozens of local football clubs for every RL one, same with junior teams. Packed pubs for England internationals. Unfortunately that doesn't generate into support for city. Legions of Hull Reds and Hull ****es who get more passionate about their adopted club than most City fans do about theirs.
The local media don't help. I think they indulge in brainwashing new recruits. I remember one saying on Sportstalk that since arriving in Hull he had realised this will always be a rugby city as long as the first thing kids do as soon as they can walk is pick up a rugby ball. FFS!
Listened to a bit of burnsy virtually orgasmic account of Hartlepool v Scunthorpe on Saturday. Made a point of questioning the sustainability of Grant McCann to a caller, questioning his summer signings. I don’t think he’s even had any enthusiasm for Hull City.

That's something I can only ever imagine a City fan saying....

"We got to the FA cup final and Europe!"

"Yeah but only because everyone else was worse than us"

<laugh>

You can only beat what is in front of you, and we have gone out to a lot worse teams than us in the past.

Rubbish. You said “It’s difficult to keep using the priced out argument”

It isn’t because people were priced out. Many of those, parents with children, who will forever be correct in using the “priced out” argument. Many more are now dead, their families will forever be entitled to use the “priced out” argument. The priced out argument will always be valid because its a FACTAFUCKINGMONDO.

You’re head’s that far up Allam’s arse you can almost see Urika’s feet.
What's up with you Ben, you been drinking ? because your posts are getting more ridiculous the later in the day it is.
On our rise to to PL I could count up to 20 the people who used to join me for homes game. It's down to me now. Not one of them stopped going because of price. We stopped winning and they stopped going. But they didn't go before we started winning either.

Maybe I wasn't contesting the fact that some people stopped due to concessions. Just stating that it isn't a reason not to go now and in the future?

If they stopped due to lack of concessions and they've been reinstated at a lower price then something else is keeping them away, unless they all passed away in the meantime, in which case they wouldn't be going anyway.

Or are you just on here looking for conflict?

Didn’t have you down as fraternising with the plastics.

I don’t drink.

You deny people were priced out? I know they were.

Maybe the company you keep isn’t in the priced out bracket?

Of those that, despite your denial, were priced out do you think that they’re not now doing other things?

Of the pensioners that, despite your denial, that were priced out do you think they’re not now doing other things & that some have died in the interim?

The facts to some are ridiculous, but only because they refuse to see beyond their own narrow circle.

To add the nuance you clearly lack.

In 10 years we built a fanbase from less than what it is now and from a lower position in the pyramid than we are now.

We lost it in the last 6 in whole, or In significant part due to ****wittery at the top.

The demographics of the local area haven't changed. Bit of sustained success and continued low ticket prices will bring most back in time, maybe more than stopped coming but we need a change of ownership in order to do that.
