The Co-op did sponsor junior teams, and bought full kit for some. Also the investment in Tigers Lair was 10k and not 40k, voted on by a majority that bothered to turn up at the meeting. Two-faced Pearson actually performed the opening ceremony. It did fall flat on its face, but things such as the moving of the bus station to Albion Street at the time didn't help. It's a dump that I never go in now, but unlike Eagle, Premier Bar, George Hotel, and others, at least it's still trading. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If it lost £10k, £40k or two pence it was a waste of supporter's money and probably prevented fans donating to such pressure groups again in a hurry. I don't think moving the bus station made a halfpenny of difference to its survival or not. The idea that a fans bar, against the wishes of the club owner and a twenty minute walk and more from the stadium, and only frequented by the fans it was intended for about an hour every second Saturday wasn't the exactly the business idea of the century. This is history repeating itself. Dewberry went off on a tangent and made an offer to buy the club based on a half promise from a couple of businessmen. That was laughed off the front pages at the time. The idea of a supporter's voice on the Board is fantasy. If we could buy shares in the club it might be different, but as well intended as this bid may be it does have an air of desperation to be listened too all over it. Just remember how we all rejoiced when Wilby and Lloyd came to our rescue and even more so when Tom Belton turned up at 147 club.
Alot of grief being aimed at hulovaguy on here and most is well deserved but he speaks a lot of sense when he talks about jarvis. I personally think the allams will accept his bid and end negotiations with the other parties. This is when we find out that he has no real investors and we are left back at square one with the allams. Please let me be wrong but I don't trust this jarvis guy.
Pearson opened it, he even said he'd pop in again from time to time, Allam time! The bus station move certainly didn't help with weeknight trade. As I said at least it's still trading, although perhaps they should rename it The Hindsight Arms! ;-) The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Alexander Jarvis IS NOT BUYING HULL CITY. He is just a fixer. If he fixes the sale, he's gone. If he doesn't fix the sale, he's gone. He is irrelevant.
He’s too busy jetting around the world and posting about it. Whilst sat at home dreaming and pretending. I’m sure he knows a guy who can fix it. Whether that guy knows him is debatable.
No he’s not buying the club. At the end of the day he’s just wide boy bullshit merchant. I wouldn’t trust him with a used Johnny!
'By putting this out now and getting involved with this we're making a very clear line in the sand - any new owner of Hull City must talk to Hull City Supporters' Trust.' A bold statement indeed.
I was looking for PLT's personal opinion, I was not asking him to speak on behalf of HCST. Just to be clear.
