Let's take the bigger picture for a second. Hull City was apparently close to being sold a year or two back. What were there now? Two possible deals? But the Allams were not prepared to make the final concessions and sell. Everyone then realized gradually that instead, the Allams intended to withdraw the upcoming parachute payments, and furthermore, to cut costs drastically. People realized that the Allams no longer dreamed of Premier League football, but of repossessing the cash they had invested. That seems to me where we stand right now. But there is still another possibility that nobody has aired on here. Have you thought what drives very wealthy people? On the face of things it is the accumulation of money, but that is superficial. Money means status and influence, and that is the main attraction for rich people. They can take a holiday at Cala di Volpe, and from behind the fence they can gloat at the plebs outside who envy them. Now consider this; the Allams have been subjected to great vilification, not just on Not 606. There have been protests, and comments in the press place them in a bad light. This can only serve to infuriate the Allams, and very likely make them vindictive. Having sucked all vitality out of Hull City, having seen City relegated to League One, why wouldn't they just sit tight and take the club down to League Two or even the Conference? Why sell at all? It would be a fine pastime for wealthy, vengeful people to see ardent Hull City supporters helpless, while the club slowly slips into obscurity. If this was the Allams' intention, there is nothing anyone can do except lay back and think of England.
I think everyone's thought of that as a possible outcome to be honest. I agree the vitality has been sucked out of us, that's the disappointing thing for me and makes us small time, we've let it. Let's just walk away... instead of staying and fighting.
No, it woulfn't. They will more than get any moneynthey have put in back through parachute payments. They then stop putting anything in, pay peanuts and watch us slip into oblivion.
The parachute money runs out in January, beyond that there's very little money in the club other than it's league status and letting the value of that drop would obviously cost them, it makes far more sense financially to sell us as a Championship club. There's just one issue with regard to income that I don't think I've seen mentioned, in addition to the final parachute payment, there's still a net eight figure amount to come in from staged transfer fee payments, though I've no idea when those payments are due to be concluded.
I had the thought re outstanding fee payments as well. Could easily be 10 mill due this season which will be the hands of messers Allams to do as they wish.
They could mortgage those future transfer payments, take a slightly smaller amount upfront, basically signing the future income over to a bank etc
I have a strong feeling this will end up being worse than any of us have imagined. They're ****s and they're very good at being ****s. They'll make this as painful as is humanly possible. We need a knight in shining armour and it's become clear that isn't going to happen. They'll get theirs, have no doubt about that, but by then, such a victory will be almost empty. We won't have gained anything and we'll have lost everything. To me, the thing is, there'll be no winners. What's that all about? And to those who still support the Allams... What the **** is wrong with you?
A little off topic and not sure if it;s been discussed before but I've heard Ehab actually lives with Elmo now...
Are these offset by outgoing payments for the likes of Ryan Mason though OLM, or has that deal been concluded...,?
I did say the 'net' figure, the last numbers I saw had the outstanding money owed to us at double what we owed to others.
