It's what they (home) pride themselves on north of Hadrians Wall, hence their rugby anthem 'flour of Scotland'.
Been 'put on the back burner so the owners can concentrate on rebuilding' according to RH this morning.
Happy to be corrected if wrong, but wasn't that the exact terminology used last time we came down ...?... rings a bell..
We're going to be rebuilt by the same ****ers that knocked our perfectly good building to the ground. That's good news
Someone on RH after the game said they were confident about the future. He was sure we would go back up quickly as the Allams had learnt lessons and would invest heavily. You can see why people believe in mysterious figures in the sky, shape shifting aliens and every conspiracy theory going whilst such naive people are about.
I thought we went straight back up ( via the Play Offs) last time ? On that assumption why would we doubt them this time ?
The bit about learning their lessons is the one. We had one of the most expensive, highly paid squads on that occasion. Will they have learnt the lesson that it isn't a good idea to mess around all summer, end up having a panic appointment as manager, not have enough players for a 5 a side game of football when they commence training, then rush about signing players no one else wants as we are, not for the only time, the last team in the division to sign any players?
The Allams have owned City for nearly 7 years now. They're not novices at this football club owning lark. Any lessons should have been learned a long, long time go. Unless of course they have a memory of a Goldfish.
That's Little John, a member of Robbing Hood's gang of merry men. A paid-up member of the Football Club Owners Union. He'll fit right in.
Last summer was a dogs dinner of a pre season. They honestly thought they had sold the club but it dragged on, and on and finally was turned down by the PL leaving us high and dry. Also Bruce was hanging out for a pay off and the Villa job, which he eventually got, and before that he was in for the England job, so it was obvious he wanted a way.......and a pay off, whilst handing a wanted list of players to the chairman to sign. Would you have handed him x-amount of millions to spend knowing he wanted away ? Awful timing all round and some of it was down to the chairman too, he was not blameless and lessons will have been learnt. I don't believe we will be in the same situation this summer, or at least I hope not.
