There's only one way to find out. Additionally the media coverage an entirely empty stadium would generate would assist the cause immeasurably.
You're right, financially it doesn't matter. Reputationally (not sure that's a word but **** it, I'm going with it) though, that DOES matter to them. Which is why I think it's a shame we have no fans groups doing anything consistently and well organised to highlight how poorly we're being run by Ehab.
Yep. They've got so much money they've been taking out bank loans and paying interest for a laugh, just because they can.
That's unrealistic. Increased media scrutiny, greater coverage of their misdeeds and more holding them to account nationally will create far more pressure on the Allams. Perhaps a more realistic scenario at games would involve varying the forms of protest: walk outs, walk ins, red cards, fans positioned near the bottom of the stands so they are visible on tv with placards, flags, t shirts, releasing balloons. If there is a small portable diesel marine generator, throw some of them on the pitch too.
A complete boycott is simply unrealistic, there's thousands of people who'll just merrily go along however **** things get, there's also the additional issue of a whole stack of new 'members' who've just bought a pass because it was cheap and they can just roll up for the big games. Any action taken now needs to be far cleverer than simply not turning up, as the Allams don't give a flying **** if there's 20k or 14k in the ground.
All these questions will be answered at the first game after the Allams have gone. It will be a ****ing sell out
You give up a large amount of time fighting the owners over their ridiculous plans, for years, and some ****er still takes a pop. Far easier to do **** all.
Some never paid for a ticket in the first place but they're usually the first to let everybody know that they've stopped going.
I hope this is a move on the part of this interested party to light a fire under the Allams arse's to get them moving with the deal, trying to take a bit of hope from Burnsy's tweet, the word "verge" was used as opposed to" were out of here" a minor thing I know but we live in hope, its getting harder and harder to attend as you see with each passing week, the life and spirit being suck out of the club by these two spiteful greedy bastards.
It will be Polo Guy moving the goalposts probably. That, and his wanting to retain a degree of involvement in the club, which makes potential buyers chuck in the towel. Ironic that Assem Allam has donated large amounts to Cancer research, and now his family's involvement with our club is growing into a malignant tumour.
I hope no one is picking on you individually OLM, but corpotate level brings the club welcome revenue. If a few corporates pulled out it would hurt them more. I know its a difficult decision but needs must sometimes. I moved back North 15 years ago and have had a season pass every year, but not this one. It kills me not to go but a stand has to be taken. We (my friends also) will be back the week the Allams go, but not before.
Probably because of dickheads like you supporting the Allams in everything they did until very recently
Bummers regularly takes a pop, there's only about three corporate posters on here. One corporate pulling out is the same as two members in the middle of the East pulling out, it's not the massive difference that some seem to think.
Totally agree. Ehab will sell when Ehab's ready, and he will make it as difficult as possible, regardless of what the fans do. I think we will be lucky to have new owners in the next few years, let alone in the next 6 months. He just seems hell bent on destruction.
Instead, some gave up up for free their services to the value of the cost of a season ticket every single home game.
