Pretty sure it was 'Clareecssssce'... But maybe a bit of the last victim's liver got stuck in Hannibals teeth and wasn't washed down with the nice chianti as intended before Sir Anthony shot the take.
What I want to know, and I’ve said it before, why is this perfectly acceptable in the USA, but held up here as poison gas, we have become so wet in this country, watching football is softer than going to the church, don’t stand up, don’t swear, don’t drink beer before the game, let’s turn the game over to 10 year old kids so they can burst the eardrums of us old ****s, with their screaming, mark my words in 10 years going to football will be like ****ing Sunday School, happy clappers everywhere, the KC stadium like some Turkish cauldron, dream on Acun, daft lad.
I’ve got to dispute that unfortunately, I was in a lift in a hotel in Hawaii, talking to my wife, and this bloke said, Are you Australian? No I’m from Hull in Yorkshire England, Hull KR fan are you, he said. He was an Hawaiian National and he did he know about Hull, follows Papua New Guinea RL, the bastard, nice fella, but massive so let him off.
I’m on about the smoke zone, it’s Orlando City, we ought to do a tie up with them, anyway, they allow in seat drinking, organise pre match pub crawls, massive piss ups in the car parks, the cops here would have a fit.
Because there isnt quite the tribal war culture in the States where **** spills over to pensioners getting coined, running battles with police and players getting attacked. If 'we' could behave (sic) or even keep our own 'exuberant' types in check so they didn't torch away toilets or rip seats out, chuck flares on the playing surface, encroach for selfies etc... ... Then maybe we'd not be having a debate about standing at a time when the likelihood is were going to be crowd- managed even more. But it's OK. Its not like it's as bad as the 80s or anything. Our modern Coke fuelled little hoolies just need DMD and Den to tell em to tone it down a bit and there won't be a problem...
As usual the trouble on the pitch at Forest is shown all over tv, so then Man City fans copy , then The other lower league one copy this makes it out to be an epidemic . If you publicise it to sizeable audience then a small %age of that audience will also do it. Now it’s done for instant publicity on phones . That’s their world today unfortunately
Most places in the world you can drink in your seats! In Aus you even sit next to away supporters if you want to and no one bats an eye.. maybe says something about you poms.
Probably because the US cops don't take any **** either, especially in FL, mess around with them and they won't think twice about putting you down. When ever I'm in the US I'm asked if I'm from Australia too. Starbucks always gets my name wrong too, the bastards.
Been to the US lots of times and been asked if I’m an Aussie a good number of times . They don’t ever really here Northern English accents , so Crocodile Dundee is to blame LOL mind you he sounds almost Cockney at times .
When have our fans been torching toilets? I wasn’t aware of that We can and should have a debate about standing, because it will come anyway at some point so needs a debate, and also because safe standing won’t cause any of the things you mention, and having seats to sit in won’t stop any of them either. And I don’t think either me or DMD have said nothing needs doing apart from a chat (although between us I’m sure we could bore them into behaving) What I did say was I thought one article was exaggerating the issue, and I challenged the person who stated it was like the 80’s, and I still would because it still isn’t. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t be punished for poor behaviour and there has been a fair bit of that lately. Punishments will gradually stop that as well by natural selection (for want of a better term) because those newer fans who have come of age lately will end up banned, and in many cases rightly so
Am I going mad or something? Pitch invasions happen at the end of every season, especially in the playoffs. Everton only did it because it was such an unusual situation they were in and Man City pulled the league out of the fire. It's not like these things are going to happening in August. It's the attacking opposition players and the odd attention seeker getting a photo that are something of new phenomena and need to be stamped out massively.
True story, the lady on the desk at the Museum of Modern Art in New York asked if I was an Australian, I replied 'do I look like I'm going to rob the place?'
The last thing I would want is an American style "atmosphere" if it's like the baseball completely wet as **** and don't get anymore creative than "let's go [insert team name]". No wonder they can drink in their seats, it gets rowdier in Astoria. Some bloke did kick a traffic cone afterwards though, so clearly there is an elemant of danger post match. Also they usually ask me if I'm Irish so at least they don't think we're all Aussie
