Read the piece in the HDM this morning about Acuns love and passion for soccer, sorry football. Its was worth noting that he indicated he does not have a lot of dough to splash around like the petro guys. He also said he had been to see a game in Argentina I think it was as part of one of his trips to the Americas. Hoping that he is looking into creating/buying a feeder team in South America. Lots of talent out there. Other clubs have done it (Brighton I think is one). Yes you dont get instant satisfaction (or disappointment) as with a transfer for a few million quid but it may well be a better return on investment.
HT2 I’ve got to ask you to correct your terms - we are City fans not Hull fans , it makes you sound a total outsider which I know you aren’t ! Hope you don’t mind we don’t want to fall out LOL
We've had this conversation on here before. I call City, City when I'm taking to City fans because anything else sounds wrong. When I'm talking to non-City fans I call City Hull as otherwise they presume I'm talking about the Hunters and I don't want that. If I say Hull I've never had to clarify if I'm talking about City or FC as nobody I talk to gives a **** about rugby league.
Boca vs River... Boca are the working class boys from an area that makes Bransholme look like Hampstead. River are the Lord Snootys'. Nickname 'the millionaires'. Says it all.
Ernie I think I just have an aversion to saying Hull when taking about sports teams !! I can’t say FC either because that makes me sound like I know or care about them. But I will use Hull when identifying my origins . If I’m explains which City I mean I always use the full Hull City , still can’t use Hull on its own for my footie I. D
I feel like I've just been put in detention haha! I'm just uses to using the term Hull as most people I talk football with would think I was talking about numerous other teams first if I used the term City. I shall try my best to use the appropriate terms moving forward
Probably posted earlier, but confirmation, although not surprising, that the Trust shared their survey that said most people think we should be moved seats again with the club
It's an interesting result, but I do think it was crucially flawed in that nobody knew there was an active proposal on the cards to move fans again. If the trust knew about these plans then they kept it very quiet. If people had known there was a consultation exercise underway with regard to moving fans, then that survey would've got more responses and I suspect there'd have been more negative responses to moving. From memory I think I voted neither agree or disagree because I thought it was a complicated and very open question. On balance I'd probably have disagreed if I'd known the context.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein. (Probably)
there was a whole thread about this in February - MKM Stadium Redesign surmising that the away fans would be moved and supporters groups would be polled accordingly - this is when Supporters Trust sent out the email asking about moving back to North - as can be seen earlier, most said yes - I wonder how many of those were actually affected
I have lived away from Hull most of my life but never refer to my favourite football team as "Hull", Hull City is quite easy to say.
I've lived in Hull all of my life and have visited all of the 92, and then some. Whenever someone asks who I support I've always replied'Hull' and always will do.
I wonder if results would have been different without the 'to enhance atmosphere' bit I think subconsciously people are much more likely to answer yes with that in it as who doesn't want a better atmosphere ?
