He’s obviously hoping for something cos he’s already negotiated one transfer window without spending We shall see what summer brings But I have my doubts
It would be very unusual for someone with a worth of £100m to have £30m sat around in the bank. Always felt highly likely that someone is backing him
It will be funny if we have to sell potter to fund any new signings Will the goodwill he has run out? I was big on potter staying last time but now for the sake of his own career he has to move.
Like I said in my post above. If he only has £100m then it would be mental to risk it by buying a football club. Why take a risk when you're already minted? OK so he loves his football. So do and I, but would you be prepared to make a massive gamble with your fortune?
How he performs and handles the England camp will be huge for him, there is still some serious doubts from interested parties over his ego/attitude/petulance. It's improving so hopefully it keeps that way. One comment I've seen from a couple of places now is that they want to see how he performs in a better team challenging at the other end of the table before making their move. If that really is the case then we could possibly see him here one more season.... Personally I think COVID and the financial implications of it have helped us in keeping him so far
Nope I'm not itk, just reading between the lines from the soundbites both Acun and those who do have info have provided.
It’s a shame none of them know the kid personally because they’d be sold instantly. Not a shame for us though.
Personality on and off the pitch are totally different though. These are looking at how he works, acts and presents himself on the pitch/training ground.
It looks like KLP will go in the next window especially now he's got an England under 21 cap.. He will certainly attract bids and he'd be a fool not to go if its the Premier League who come calling. Also those thinking that the cash received will ALL go on team strengthening are mistaken. The previous owners are in for a wedge of any transfer fee because any future sale of KLP was reflected in the price paid for the club. Lets have a reality check here. Yesterday we were selling tickets at £2 each and we still had the second lowest attendance by a considerable number in the Championship on the day.
Only because most of the big clubs were at home, the Championship average attendance yesterday was well over 20k, there’s no shame in 16.5k.
I think it's fairly obvious to everyone that the only way Hull city will ever have decent crowds is if they are doing well. The ones who are staying away for whatever reason they are using at this present time will soon forget about if we do well
I didn't say there was any shame in the crowd. I said it was the second lowest in the Championship on the day, which it was. Also from all those 'big clubs' you mentioned I doubt if any of them have had the success this club has had over the past 20 years. These are the clubs we will be competing with in the summer for players and they all have considerably bigger fan bases then we do. That also is a fact. Yesterdays crowd was decent but it was £2 to get in, and it was our biggest league gate for five season wasn't it ? Dress that up how you like but the facts are that we attract crowds more fitting to a League 1 club. Would you invest millions of pounds into a club like that ?
Irrelevant what I’d do, self evidently Acun’s willing to invest millions and it’s only what he’ll do that matters.
Let's hope Acun is still willing to invest as you claim. I'll answer my own questions seeing as you have ducked out on it. If I were in a position to invest in a football club I'd look at fanbases, size of stadium etc and I'm afraid, even though I'm Hull City through and through, I wouldn't invest too heavily in a club like ours. Because success isn't sustainable with the crowds we attract.
He’s just bought a football club for tens of millions of pounds, it’s too late for him start reviewing fanbases now ffs, he’s got to spend to increase the value of his investment (and he will).
I think here we only get the crowds our ‘success’ deserves. I think if we could sustain a premiership presence we could fill the ground as more people become interested especially young kiddies who are footie mad. It takes time and consistency which is why the other big clubs have big crowds - it becomes habit.
