Remember those sentiments when a professional tennis player gets honoured for winning a tennis competition or an actor for acting. A formula 1 driver for driving faster then anyone else, etc, Adding, it's not only NHS workers who have worked through this pandemic.

Best way to thank the NHS is next time we vote, we vote to fund it as opposed to voting to privatise it by default.

Given the previous political colour privatised a fair chunk, you may find that a difficult choice. I'd favour someone reviewing the management of the funds they already have. But we're way off topic for this thread, and also for this board.

I'll say again. If Assem Allam deserves a New Year honour, it shouldn't be for what he's done for our club. It should be for what he has done for our hospitals and for the University.

For what he's done for our club, he can **** the **** off :emoticon-0152-heart

Not that it matters to Hull City AFC, as it isn't going to happen anytime soon anyway.

Assem's intentions were good when he bought the club, they were also good when he donated what he has already donated and is perhaps still to donate.

Yes, he's mishandled relationships with club stakeholders and supporters, and he acted petulantly when he didn't see the 'support' he wanted from various groups - mainly because the Allams have failed to understand the difference between runni g a football club than running a manufacturing business.

Despite early success I don't think we can regard the Allam ownership as an overall success at the point of writing, the good stuff has been consistently overshadowed by bullshit and taking a Premier league club from Cup-final to league 1 penny-pinching absolutely reeks of incompetence...

Haven't a clue what's coming in this new era, but come what may its time to move on.

I think its a safe bet that the new owners will be wanting to maximise the publicity surrounding the Everton game to do the 'money shots'.

Maybe beforehand if they land a target to have in the squad for that game.

Do you honestly believe I was advocating that he should be honoured for owning a football club ? If AA does receive any recognition in the New Years Honours List it will be be for either his charity work of his business life. He already has the Queens Award for Industry. Not that this hunch is based on any facts. My original post which stoked up a response from the haters said it wouldn't surprise me if he did receive an honour. That's all. Happy New Year to all.

Of course he is a British citizen and entitled to an OBE. Or any other honour for that matter. I am no Allam fan but he has given more employment to people and paid more taxes, on top of his charity donations, than most people born here. More deserving of one for those reasons than for hitting a tennis ball, kicking a round one, driving a car or speaking someone else's words in my opinion.

Are you a bit simple or do you just not bother properly reading stuff that's posted? It wasn't sitting on any fence, it wasn't doom & gloom, and it really wasn't hard to understand. It was mainly trying to get to the facts. Just like it isn't hard to understand this is a football message board and people post within that context. Please don't bother replying; take your obsession elsewhere.

As much as I despise him and his son for what they've done with our club & related, I fully agree with you on this.
