I see we're having one last sickening fawn over that nice Allam chap, for old times sake.

They got us into the PL on borrowed money and couldn't keep up there. The Allams bought the club, probably to safe guard the money they had already loaned the club and to save us from going into administration. .It's a simple as that.

What some football club owners fail to grasp is that like any business you need to treat all stakeholders like you care and have interests of both at the core and heart of everything you do. The Allams attempted to railroad through lots of decisions without any reference whatsoever to their customers (the supporters), and look what happened! They have in general terms been poor custodians.

If a business is valued based on it's revenue, assets, cost base and current/future profitability, then whilst they may have stabilised the financial function, the team and the relationship with the fans has gone downhill big time!

I recollect how in the days of The Prem, Ehab stated that gate receipts represented just c7% of revenues given TV income at the time, the comment in the context it was stated, inferred that the club would progress irrespective of the number of fans going through the turnstiles. Well over the last 3 seasons (admittedly not helped by covid) hasn't that come back to bite them in the pocket!

In spite of some very special days under their ownership, the apathy around the club won't go until they are gone, all of their own making, how it could have been so very different!

Up until you posted the same thing about their investment, I was totally unaware they had money tied up in the Bartlett regime. It made me re-think the reason for the haste in which they bought the club. At the time, Adam Pearson stated administration was not an option, there was nothing to administer. And I may be wrong, but AP was the first to use the word, gift.

Yes, the history books will show the on-field highs we all thought would, or could, not happen here. What they will not show is the absolute division of the fan base over the name change. I hope the change of ownership buries that. And at some time in the future, instead of at 19.04, booing City til I die as a rebel song, everyone joins in as a rallying call.

Actually I’f we hadn’t won the first playoff final and been promoted to the premier league we were ****ed as the whole of next seasons income had been borrowed against and spent. If Allam hadn’t taken over when he did we wouldn’t be here now in our current form.

But we did go up so earnt the income from the PL. You're right though it was a big gamble, but getting to the PL didn't bankrupt us. If anything it saved us.

    Hmmm

these new owners may just be another one blinded by the riches on offer and think it’s easy if we just get to the pl and all will be well.
See numerous forest derby etc owners

what happens if we spend and miss out and then do it again
The financial backers will think **** this for a game of soldiers

We can look back all we like but it’s going over the same things over and over again, some fantastic memories which we didn’t think we would ever have spoilt by missable times with nothing coming out of the club. however isn’t it now time to move on and look forward to the future hopefully with very good new owners. That’s what’s important now. Also the ones on here who have been informing us of what’s going on have been really good so thanks to them, hopefully it will happen very soon.

In terms of HCAFC, I for one will have no sympathy, zero, when they leave... they have alienated a generation of supporters, put the support of the club back 10 years and taken every penny and much more than they every invested in the club back....they were not football people, well guess what you and I are and we respect history. I dont care that the new owners may be as bad, at least they come in with an honest intention to make money and they can only do that through investment in the club, the team and re-aligning a fan base...

Not sure what the point is, but point out that Filbert street was, about 200 yards from the King Prawn. I'm sure it's now the stadium car park.
Man City was in mosside, not one of the nicest places to spend an afternoon, exploding the cultural delights!!!
