UP forget history ( I respect what you say) Burnley were close to going into the conference in the 86-7 season, last day survival... it mirrors our existence at a very similar time...
But how does that help them be successful? They were successful, but that doesn't make them amazing or influence their successes in the modern day era. What they achieved in the 70s has nothing to do with what they have now.
£80m? Ehab told you that? Is that including wages or just transfer fees? Because if it’s the latter, I call absolute bollocks. Livermore, Snodgrass, Diamé, Hernández, Maguire, Michael Dawson, Robbo, Ince and N’Doye did not cost £80m in transfer fees collectively, and we made £15m in selling Long and Boyd. With incomings and outgoings for the 2014-15 season, our net spent was probably around the £25-30m range; pretty reasonable for a club in their second season that had aspirations to stay up and build on becoming an established PL club.
Even if you include wages and transfer fees in that £80m figure, it suggests that the average wage of our new signings that year was over £80k-a-week. No way.
I'm not sure when Stan Ternant went tbh, I'm not sure his departure was even reported in HDM. It seemed to me, he was our chief scout and then he wasn't. He did very good job for us, that's for sure. It was second time round as well.
Its all in the accounts. Believe it or not. It doesn't matter either way, its gone, and it's history. But it's a fact the Steve Bruce became disinterested when he couldn't be involved in negotiations for players.
I was once told that the Allams have had approximately 500 million in premier cash including parachute payments. Can this possibly true ?
Ffs I know he was ill, but certainly not at that time. When he did get ill I was the one who started the thread on here to wish him well and a speedy recovery. Oh and for crying out loud, do I have to say it again? WHY WOULD I HAVE TO EXPLAIN MY ABSENCE???? It's more than well documented on here and if it was true that I just didn't want to go anymore, then why on earth wouldn't I just say so? Sorry mate, but this "needing an excuse" thing just doesn't make any sense to me.
Ask Obadiah, he goes into these things in more detail. I'm just a supporter so I don't get involved in these things. I bet your hoping that I made it up ?
Its all in the accounts. The Allams had over half a billion in cash since they took over and we've got nothing but a few good memories to show for it.
No, I just want to see the club’s receipts for the 2014-15 season to know how Bruce spent £80m. And I don’t know where to find them. I know it’s on company house but I don’t know if it would come under the 2015 or 2016 tax year.
Despite that we were over £100 million in debt with just under £30 million owed to a bank. Unlike us Burnley had cash in the bank from their one year in the Premier League and could afford to pay Gray 's wages and the transfer fee.
So to clear up buy maguire 2 mil sell 15 million Buy robbo 2 mil sell 8 million Buy Livermore 8 mil sell 10 million BAD buy henriksen 2 mil release for nothing Buy growshitski 8 mil sell 500 grand Buy Keane 1-2 mil release for nothing. GOOD I can clearly see how Steve Bruce had to be stopped, he would have had us in the black within a few more years the waster him!!
