I'm really **** on guitar mainly because I'm just too lazy to practise as much as you need to. I just go on line and now and again and follow some of the tableture on there. I can do a pretty mean 'Wish You Were Here'.
I have 3 Yamaha acoustics, an APX900 electro acoustic, AC1R & AC1M acoustic electric and swear by them, they (in my opinion) are much better built, better sounding and rugged than Takamine. A friend has a Washburn and that is good also. However, I mostly play electric. I like Gibsons but tend to change the pickups to Bare Knuckle.
I've got a Yamaha APX-6A electric acoustic, it's a very good guitar, also a Tanglewood TW45-H electric acoustic, which I seem to have broken (the jack was lose and I think a wire's come off, it's currently just an acoustic).
I can highly recommend Steve Curtis, a luthier in PMT Manchester as a great guy for repairs. I don't know anyone nearer (yet).
I was going to say "I haven't got a guitar" ...... but thinking about it, I think there's one in the loft. One of those Lidl centre aisle impulse buys. All the money you save at Lidl gets blown on impulses ..... or could it be a retirement project shortly?
I started playing guitar at 18 because the TV was **** and I thought I was wasting my life watching it. I'm now 67 and the TV is no better. I'm not a wonderful player but it's given me a load of pleasure over the years. Give it a go , you might enjoy it.
Careful, if you overheat the wire whilst soldering, you cook the pickup. I'm ****e at soldering so pay someone who knows what they are doing.
I was a TV repair man in a previous life, so if I can find the soldering iron, I'll be able to sort it no problem. It's like riding a bike. Probably.
