No idea about that tbh. I know speakman said he liked the red bull model so just pit 2 + 2 together and probably getting a million
so what have you seen, personally, that makes you feel nothing has changed...not having a go here just trying to grab some facts. i will also offer my opinion first so you know where i stand. firstly, we had a few years of simply stinking the premier league out or dropping down the leagues, we had no option to try to make drastic cuts to expenditure (think 100M just for bottom of the premier and that gives a starting point to how much income was lost)...Mr Short, for all his faults did what i think and believe was the best deal for the club in so much as he left it relatively debt free plus he took a massive hit when he sold us, the new owners came in and immediately went for the fans getting them onside with the seat renewal and plenty talk, they gambled on instant promotion leading (possibly) to instant sale at big profit and they failed from then on it became a race for them to 'get rid' asap. we then eventually got taken over by KLD who basically has just managed to get his feet under the table but began by clearing out the decks and bringing in people for specific jobs who have experience in those roles (massive difference to short) including a new recruitment team that were very 'data lead' and i feel the first window was a very good one, a couple short that became obvious but possibly sorted in this window (time will tell, obviously), there is a style of football being played now that is forward thinking rather than the 'get to the half way line and go back to the keeper' we have been used to, although i will agree it still requires some work/personel. the obvious downside is that we are still lurking in division 3 and we all agree we want/need to be out of it, this downside means we attract division 3 players and we have no divine right to be beating the rest of the teams in the league, we have to earn them wins...the new recruitment team (again in my opinion) have so far done a sterling job when we take into consideration the restrictions the FA have put on the leagues to try to stop 'overspending' and getting further and further into debt...with a few additions to the squad that i feel can play at least in the championship, there is a lot of forward thinking meaning we should not need to rip a squad apart and start from fresh when promotion comes. this was never meant to be, nor will it be a 'quick fix', those have been tried and failed, this may take a few years to finally show the benefits, again, time will tell but most are willing to accept this if it means a more secure future and progress back to the premier league in a much stronger position to compete. now, i am an old bugger with a dodgy ticker amongst other things and i might not even see this season out never mind future ones and to be honest i am rather p1ssed off with that as i think the future looks good even if the present is not too rosy...apologies for the bit of a rant but i could not fully explain my side without it.
Yep, Wednesday is over with just about and the team need to be prepared. You cant have someone prepare them and have someone else take over on Friday. Even if appointed they will take a back seat.
I think the statement about the “interim coaching team” being Dodds and Proctor points away from them wanting a safe pair of hands til the end of the season. Looks like they want a permanent in as soon as they can.
You say zoom call, are you eluding to the main candidate being to far away to travel half way round the world for an interview. Or are all the interviews done like this?
I would say that it's a way to get an initial feel for the individual before sending the private jets and helicopters out.
How would it be great if we were at the other end of the table? If he can get promotion from the bottom,it's a good shout he can do it from 3rd?
Am I being naive or perhaps overly optimistic to think that this is going to be a massively data lead appointment too. I'm hoping that to be on any Zoom call in the first place the club will have run the numbers on their previous sides to confirm they're a good fit for our squad and our philosophy?
Of course there will have been a filtering process before any formal contact, zoom or otherwise....KLD said they were swamped with applications. You're right, this appointment is very much date led. We simply don't have the luxury of time. We need the right person in and pdq,or we can kiss this season goodbye.
Not sure about him. Got results at Barnsley but his hoofball style didn't go down well. Also took some doing to be as bad as he was at West Brom with the team he had available.
