Mr Khan is back in Town, on an unscheduled visit. So something and/or someone is going to be stirred up (I presume).
Hopefully it's someone whose name rhymes with dig, prig, fig, cig, big, wig, pig, gig.......d'ya get me!
Gary Neville has shot straight to a top spot in the Bookie's charts. Bet the old Guvnor will be putting him right on a few things in his CV. please log in to view this image
I think Neville would be an exciting prospect. I've grown to respect and like his views on football. It would be a risk but one that might be worth taking. I see also a report about Warburton again but can't see him leaving Rangers. Rangers were my childhood team growing up in Scotland. They are a massive club and the success he is having would be difficult leave. Would be good though if we could get him. If Khan is in town hopefully something is brewing.
Apparently we're going to 'actively pursue' Warburton: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/footba..._the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport I like the idea of Warburton, but I'm not convinced he's willing to leave Rangers so soon after joining. I also don't know what to make of this quote from the article: 'BBC Sport also understands that there is recognition from Fulham that they may have to wait until the January transfer window before the situation is resolved.' Hmmmm.
He has indeed - http://www.thefa.com/news/england/2...inted-valencia-head-coach#zb3cBozlBg7rX3em.99 And while we're on it - I really can't see us grabbing Mark Warburton. Why would he want to come? Setting aside Fab Fabio's and COYW's 'big club' ..hmm claims .. he's got full autonomy there, enjoys working with Davie Weir (who'll never leave), will get them into the Scottish Premiership this year and be crowned King of Govan. Makes you wonder if the media 'leaks' are from our PR people to lure fans into thinking the Club's on the ball instead of bumbling around. Of course, it may be a cunning smoke screen to shield the real candidate. NEXT!
Wharburton for me could be a good capture, as he may have influence enough to entice Tarkowski away from Brentford
If I remember rightly, the reason Warburton left Brentford was because he wasn't willing to work as a continual-style head coach as distinct from a manager. Even without his reluctance to walk out on a job so early, it's hard to see why he'd want to move to precisely that kind of set up with us. I don't doubt the club are after him, I just don't see him being tempted.
Mark Warburton's statement tonight - "I'm both bemused and frustrated by shockingly incorrect stories from certain media outlets. I am going nowhere and no club has approached me. Such stories are incorrect and disrespectful to me, to Rangers and to the supposed interested party which in this case is Fulham. Appalling. Why are such stories are released without any sensible investigation? Rangers fans, Rangers as a club and indeed Fulham deserve better." Wonder if Mr Khan through one of executives will be making a statement?
Indeed. Difficult for the Management to take 4 weeks to "find the right man" and the go for someone who is unemployed. Even worse would be to go back to Steve Clarke who has been fired by Reading after they lost to QPR last night. Source: http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-sack-steve-clarke-10547535 Unfortunately that means there is yet another club in the hunt.
I disagree that it would be bad to go back to Steve Clarke. We wanted him a fortnight ago, he hasn't become a bad manager in that time. He wasn't my first choice, but he seems to have been the club's first choice. He didn't want to leave Reading for us, but that's not an issue any more. I'd take him ahead of Stuart Gray or the other names that we're being linked to.
I didn't mean "worse" in terms of ability Captain. I meant it in terms of respect (on both sides) and loss of face (on both sides); emotional stuff like that. Guess the plus side is we could sign him on our terms rather than the one's he and his agent were brokering and we now wouldn't have to (presumably) pay Reading compensation. And money talks after all, in some quarters.
It's a real mess isn't it and you've got to laugh it's so bad. I'm also not against going back to Clark bearing in mind there doesn't seem to be a rush for the job and time is ticking. It not the most inspiring as Cravingawin says and our fans views were split before he turned us down but will be more so after he said what he had at Reading was miles better. I heard Danny Murphy on Talksport yesterday say he would do the job but he thought Fulham would never ask him.
