Have I read correctly? Do we have to be renamed soon.

If so, has anyone heard any rumours. I'm hoping it doesn't become the Bet 365 stadium :emoticon-0146-punch

Well, if Britannia don't exist and therefore aren't sponsoring us any more it seems fair enough we name the stadium after whoever does give us money.

I have to admit I instinctively thought it will become the Bet365, and let's face it, it is a bit more weekly advertising on Match of the Day

Why do you think that the Bookies own Stoke City.

Uncle Peter aside they don't give a damn.

Prem League football is a business dontcha know ?

They sponsor the shirt though so I guess they'd have an option at least of sponsoring and then naming the stadium.

I don't think there is a big enough local brand (other) than Bet365 who could (or would potentially want to) pay for the naming rights!

Sponsorship in the PL is not local Smithers:

Chelsea - Samsung
City - Eithad
Arsenal - Emirates
United - Chevrolet
Liverpool - Standard Chartered
etc
We are arguably the ONLY home town sponsored club in the top flight.

All a tax write off job.

Close season = NickyB's conspiracy theory diatribes :)

Exactly, what non local brand wants to be associated with Stoke?

Since Ikea seem to have taken over from the potteries in making the mugs and other crockery of the nation, maybe they should do it :1980_boogie_down:

We could have a Scandanavian sounding name for the stadium, that retains its Stokie values. Something like Oatkencake. And, the season card could be in the form of an allun key ........... I might have over thought this :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I woulkdnt mind if Bet 365 gets some part in the name of the Brit seeing as it was that business that funded us in getting to where we are. We are very lucky to have Coates and he is very lucky to be part of our club. Its a win win situation imo.

Oooh, the diatribe cronicles, you could make a film of that Nick.

I cant see past Bet365, they have the funds and the interest - as do a lot of Club owners who have their own business. Whether we get a true market rate for it or as Nicky suggests its just a steal is another question.

As always Smithers...he who pays the piper, calls the tune.
