Lifted from todays HDF, say's it all really............. In 1963 I stood on Bunkers Hill for the first time, and I was hooked. With age I moved to the West Stand Well and even managed West Stand seat Season passes. I moved to the Upper West at the KC (always will be the KC). 51 years I have lived through the Needlers, the infamous Lloyd era, Robinson, etc. I watched as teams managed by Cliff Britton, Terry Neil, etc through to the current days on-field mess. But 51 years I was there, boy and man, when we were not locked out! As husband and wife we have smiled, laughed, berated and cried at our team. But we could because it was our team, our club. We had hoped that in 2 years time to be watching our second love as concessions in Upper West, after years of paying the full amount, the best seats with the best view, ideal for us personally. Further it had been hoped to introduce our 6 and 4 year-old grandsons into these excellent seats to convince them, as we were convinced by our parents and grandparents, that this team, our club, is the only one to watch and support. To anyone who dare challenge us, we already wear our stripes with pride (although I admit with a little less over the last 3 years but we're still there) WE DO NOT HAVE TO EARN THEM! Sadly, this ill thought out scheme will rob of us of our fortnightly this pleasure and our grandsons will be come a lost generation to our club and end up as Man U fans. Like many, we will not be moving seats, we will, with heads held high, walk away from a club which is not ours anymore, until the present custodians sell the club and walk away. We will not purchase any merchandise, in short non of our hard earned cash will go into the owners coffers. It doesn't so much feel like the end of a love affair but the death of a loved partner, and with the current regime, a long slow affair. When the anger and bitterness subsidies, I am overwhelmed by the sense of sadness, which could have been so easily avoided, and a deep ache in the pit of my stomach. What will we do, we cannot bear to support another football team, so it's the honest endeavours of Rugby Union for us with individuals who are well and truly committed to the cause, the allotment will get a lot of TLC and as for our £1200, that will go on extra holidays in the Lake District. We will follow the club from afar and we will return under new ownership but not before. As for the protests, we have decided to walk out on the 63rd minute of the remaining games starting with Leeds. Why 63, nothing really other than it is our age and it is early enough to be meaningful. What about the team/promotion, as someone has already said, this is much bigger than promotion, this is about the future of the club. Feel free to join us because as 'mere' helpless supporters it is all we can do! CITY TILL I DIE Report please log in to view this image Report please log in to view this image Snothillbazza | April 17 2016, 4:33PM And the biggest insult of all is that 1,800 long-standing, loyal City fans are being denied entry into the upper west, which in my opinion are the best seats, and those seats are being handed over to away supporters! This is madness. I will definitely not be joining this crackpot scheme under any circumstances, The most loyal supporters are being ripped off! Report please log in to view this image Stevesince72 | April 17 2016, 3:04PM Excellent post city2099. The Rotherham game will be my last (no play offs) until the owners reverse their decisions or leave. Hopefully I will return at some time to watch the club which has been part of my life for 44 years. Report please log in to view this image city2099 | April 17 2016, 12:40PM Let's make one thing very clear, the removal of concessions is an absolute disgrace. When and who did the club propose this shambolic scheme too? We all know the answer to this question. Half of season ticket holders are adults, then take into account under 22s and senior supporters who attend matches with adult season holders, your looking at between 8000 - 9000 in attendance for Championship football next season. If by a small miracle we do go up, you can have your holiday makers (one season wonders), but believe me they won't be in the trenches when we play Championship football in future seasons against the likes of Burton, Wigan and Bristol City, (no disrespect to those associated with these clubs). Mr Allam is alienating the life and soul of the club, young fans (The Future) and Senior members with forty plus years of following City at Boothferry Park and the KC. How strange will the ground look with adult only supporters next season? If I take my kids swimming, go to the Cinema, book a holiday, catch a bus or train, Mr Allam you have what is called a CONCESSION. You are correct on one thing Mr Allam, this would be revolutionary, to be the only football club in Britain not to have concessions for young and senior supporters, genius Adult season ticket holders, do not be convinced you are now getting a better deal, I paid £414 two seasons ago in the East Stand. With the inflated prices, especially this season for Championship football, when you compare our prices against both Championship and Premiership season ticket prices, against the new proposal we are flirting with Europa/Champions league football, embarrassing for a working class city. Mr Allam is fooling nobody with his marketing comparisons, only if you move will you save £127 as a senior but if you continue to sit in the West Stand you will have to pay an additional 100% increase for following the team through thick and thin, and even now some supporters in the West Stand still do not know where they stand. Earn your stripes, what a disgraceful and disrespectful slogan. We need a mass walk out starting against Leeds and then for the remaining home fixtures. I certainly won't be supporting his regime at Reading or Bolton now. HDM and Radio Humberside, we need your support and to campaign strongly against this deplorable scheme. Thirty-five years of following City home and away, what a sad way to end my association with the club, I really thought it was City Till I Die. And, I was planning to move back to Hull, we left in 1961, because the club was such a huge part of my life. That's off now. Bond on Amber Nectar says he's been told by City's membership scheme telephone operators he can book seats in the upper west irrespective of what league we're in. http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2016/04/things-we-think-we-think-224/
From various posts on social media, I get the impression that the 'membership team' haven't got a clue what's going on.
You are in breach of the agreement with the club. It's between you and the club. The bank just follows the account holders instructions.
Aren't we supposed to be getting a membership pack from the club for existing season ticket holders ?
If anyone wants to know what people were saying during Burnsy's phone in this morning, check out Matt Rudd's Twitter feed... https://twitter.com/MatthewJRudd
So we can only renew up to the 29th after that its the mad scramble/trickle to move to a cheaper area?
Geoff Bielby from the Hull City Supporters Trust was on Burnsy this morning. He said that he understood that the membership scheme has been two years in the making. If two years ago the club had announced they wanted to introduce a revolutionary scheme to encourage youngsters to follow City and to encourage more teenagers along to help improve the atmosphere I'm sure most fans would have supported it. I'm personally financially better off under the membership scheme and a lot nearer pensioner age than teenager but this scheme is nonsense. It does absolutely nothing to encourage teenage fans who are the future of the club and the ones most likely to improve the atmosphere. If season pass abuse is a problem then tighten the checks up like Derby County have. Two years to devise this. Unbelievable.
Living in Canada I haven't seen my package, which may or may not have been delivered to my sister's place in Hull - she happens to be out of the country until the second week in May. I have a question Obadiah which you may be able to answer. If someone cancels their membership and comply with the 2 months prior notice rule, will they still be able to attend home matches scheduled during that 2 month period ?
Not true (daft) in my case OLM - living in Canada & most years only manage to be over there to 4 or 5 home games per season at most and staring a doubling of the cost of my season outlay (concession as an OAP) for my seat in W5 lower. This area is the most favourable location for me to attend matches with family & friends during my visits.
You're not going too have any difficulty getting match day tickets, I'm a little confused as to why you buy a pass when you can only attend so few games?
Once season has started I cannot see low match ticket prices unless they first reduce the signed up DD membership prices otherwise they will kill their own scheme
Don't get it... Tweeting some oaps saying they will be over £600 quid worse of nxt year?! How?! The most expensive zone is 40 a month, so I don't get it! Where they corporate seat holders? I didn't hear the phone in and I am confused?!
I managed to listen to a bit of Burnsy before I went to work this morning. Did he say something like 44% of people that had taken the survey would not be signing up for the membership scheme? Sad times
